Colour outside the lines. If you stay within certain parameters or guidelines it is impossible to discover something new. Looking at society a way of play being used is through apps on phones. For example, the dating app Tinder is just a playful, fun and easy way to get people to engage in the more serious version which would be a dating website. A lot of people just make an account for fun to playa round with and see what it does and end up actually going on dates trough the app. It made the online dating world more accessible and normal and fun because the app looked so fun and playful.
I think for creativity play definitely comes into it bigtime. Lots of ways of learning what kind of artists you are is just playing around with colours, techniques or instruments. Not taking your learning or creating process can prevent you from becoming incredibly frustrated when things don ́t turn out the way you want. You are just playfully creating and seeing where it takes you. In the concept of media I think play just relates tot the facts that our concentration span is decreasing so to keep people interested you have to keep your news playful. A variety of ways to share content. TV shows interacting live through twitter or online polls so people actively and easily can be apart of your show.
