I am passionate about my studies and academics and work towards them constantly. What drives me to be better is success. When I succeed at something academically I feel better and I am motivated to continue to pursue my school career so that I can continue to cultivate that feeling of satisfaction. I think I have a mix of both a growth and fixed mindset because I do believe there’s room for improvement but I also believe that ambition and the strive for perfection can be a liability and hinderance just as much as it can be a goal.

The Ted Talk that was presented to me was about successful people, always having something in them called "grit". Grit is another way to say passion and preservice. The Woman says that she studied many professions and many types of people. The people that had a lot of something called grit were the ones that had the most success. She mentions that even though she does not know exactly how to give people more grit, she says the best way is to teach kids something called a growth mindset. People with a growth mindset think that failure is a challenge rather than a permanent condition. People with a growth mindset also think for the long run, instead of what might happen tomorrow.

Me, I am very passionate about technology and computers. I have always found them fascinating because. Me finding new tricks, and new techniques on how to do stuff on computers drives me to continue. I think that I am both sprinting, and doing a marathon. I play quite a bit of video games, however, I still have plenty of time to learn a lot from computers. I would also say that I have a growth mindset due to the reason why I am very stubborn about many things and that I won't give up.

Being a gritty person means perseverance and passion. Success does not have to come from money, it has to come from your passions.
I am very passionate about fashion and the industry behind it - in my opinion, what you wear can determine everything. I am also passionate about photography. I often take photos of my friends and family - there are times that I see my work and think that what I did could have been better, so over, the "want" of bettering my work drives me to be better.
There are times where I do feel like I am sprinting through life - for a majority of my life I have felt as if "the faster I get it done the better." (this has come with negative and positive effects)
I like to believe that I have a growth mindset, but in tricky situations I have been caught saying to my self, "this is impossible," which is not true. I have been putting my best foot forward, keeping the thoughts of something being 'impossible' out of my mind.

The Ted Talk presented to us talked to us about grit. Grit is what pushes people to keep going. It is taking advantage of your mistakes and using them to better yourself. The presenter stated how the definition of successful is not always about how smart you are but your willingness to keep pushing forward.
I am passionate about school, my family, and cars. My parents drive me to be better and my own goals to one day become an Ophthalmologist. I chose this career after my little brother Charlie had Eye Surgery to help him when he was little.
I believe that I am running a marathon.

Just to summarize, Grit is basically the will or passion/determination to continue something. Grit is telling yourself to not give up because you feel like you already went in and it's too late / too early to give up. I am Passionate about one of my extracurriculars, drums. The fact that I can do something as simple as play a couple of repeating notes and THAT can be impressive, makes me keep my drive. It makes me to try to make CRAZY and WACKY beats to be more interesting. Sometimes, sure, I mess up. But then I know what to do and not do again! It's all a cycle of keep going and failure, keep going and failure. Until I, sometimes randomly, succeed. Then, I gain knowledge, and EVEN MORE DRIVE! Right now, I am doing a mix of sprinting and doing a marathon. On one hand, I try to do something quick and easy to do more things, while having fun. On the other hand, when I find a problem, THATS when I stop and train. Sure, I may make mistakes, but I learn from those mistakes. I now know my GREATEST points and my weakest points (For example, I EXCELL in math, I'm literally in Geometry honors, yet I may have trouble with troubles doing simple 7 grade math such as SURFACE AREA! With that being said, I believe I have a growth mindset, because I Actually stop and try to learn when my speed machine stops at a problem. When i figure it out, I don't just move on. I Practice, making sure that I will almost NEVER make that mistake again. In short, When I fail, I don't stop. I keep going and going until I physically can't no more.

I liked the love and strength that Angela gave her when reading, she realized that the intellectual degree was not what she knew about success, her knowledge and self-control were key to achieving academic success for both her and the students. What I am most passionate about is reading, specifically I like books on interior decoration. My favorite is The Art of Elegance. Classic Interiors. Everything is based on the principle of transformations, combining warmth, light, peace and balance, according to the lifestyle of each family. I am passionate about discovering new ways to solve cases that seem complicated. I feel that my strong pillar that drives me to be better and strive every day is my family. I consider that I am becoming a marathon runner, since I enjoy the changes and learn from them. I have a growth mindset with fixed goals for the future. I would like to be an interior decorator. I like the changes and transformations that can be given to spaces depending on the fashions and tastes of each person. it is very satisfying to see a smile on people's faces at the end of a project.

Also some others things that drive me to be better is my grit which i have a lot of. I live life like a marathon not a sprint. I also have a growth mindset and both of those traits help me succeed I like challenges and I learn from my mistakes and I rarely give up. I like how the speaker in the video mentions that grit can be used for any situation. This proves grit is a very important skill to have.
