Groups responsible for village halls and working on projects to the value of £37,500 or more that lead to a reduction in rural loneliness, have a positive impact on the local environment, support the rural economy and contribute to community life can apply for grants between £7,500 and £75,000.  More detail at this link.

This Carers’ Week (9-15 June), Hart District Council is announcing free memberships to Hart’s Community Garden worth £80 for unpaid carers who live in Hart District. (Please note that the number of free membership places available is limited).

Carers often need support themselves and 87% of unpaid carers report a negative impact on their mental health as a result of their caring role.

Hart’s Community Garden members enjoy:

• Free group gardening sessions during the week (Mondays to Thursdays)

• A free pair of gardening gloves (for you to keep)

• Use of all tools, equipment and a share of produce

• Exclusive social events (twice a year)

Why join the Big Give Christmas Challenge?

• Access up to £25,000 in match funding: Eligible charities can unlock matched donations from Big Give’s Champions – leading philanthropists, foundations, and companies. Last year, 98% of eligible charities received a match funding offer, up from 83% in 2023.

• Vital support for smaller charities: The campaign is open to organisations of any charity with an income of over £25,000.

• Support nature with water related projects including pond creation and rainwater harvesting

• Improve health in community spaces, for example, installing accessible toilets

Applications are reviewed on a quarterly basis. July 2025, November 2025 and March 2026, and successful applicants will be informed within 2 weeks. Where possible, they want to provide further support through colleague volunteering. Please do include any opportunities to work with them in this way as part of your project request. Please check that your organisation is within Thames Water supply area before applying. The fund is hosted on Actionfunder. Last deadline to apply 28/02/2026.

Learning Goals:

• To identify and explain how to carry out at least 3 first aid procedures in order to preserve a life, prevent the situation worsening and promote recovery.

• To be able to perform and demonstrate a primary survey using DRSABCD when attending to a casualty.

• To demonstrate and perform safe and effective bleeding control when attending to a bleeding casualty.

• To explain how to prioritise treatment whilst minimizing risks to yourself and others.
