All matters are made up of atoms, which intern is made up of electrons, protons and neutrons. When you rub the pipe with the cloth tiny invisible electrons with the negative charge build up on the surface of the pipe. This is called Static Electricity, which means non-moving electricity.

The Electorns have the power to pull the very ligh objects (with positive charge - protons) towards them like the aluminimum can.

Conclusion
I learnt from this project that rubbing a PVC pipe with the cloth creates static electrictiy. Pipe which has gained the electrons becomes negatively charged. Hence the can which is positively charged is attracted towards it, as opposite charges attract.
