The integration of Artificial Intelligence in English language teaching is reshaping the traditional role of the teacher. AI tools like Canva Magic Write, ChatGPT, and Quizlet assist in designing creative, personalized, and engaging activities that save time and enhance learning outcomes. However, these tools do not replace the teacher; instead, they empower us to focus more on interaction, guidance, and emotional support in the classroom.

As future educators, it is our responsibility to evaluate which AI resources truly support learning and how to use them ethically and effectively. We must foster digital literacy, critical thinking, and autonomy in our students, while also adapting to rapid technological changes. Teachers are no longer just knowledge transmitters but facilitators who guide students through meaningful and collaborative learning experiences enhanced by technology.

In conclusion, AI is a valuable ally, not a threat. The teacher’s role evolves into a more strategic and human-centered one: designing learning environments where creativity, curiosity, and communication flourish. With AI, we have the opportunity to personalize instruction, bridge gaps in learning, and prepare students for the future—while always keeping human connection at the heart of education.
