You may not see it yet but soon you will see how lucky you are to have Ms. A as your teacher! I will admit this class takes a lot of effort and dedication especially if you are striving for an A in the class. However, Ms. A is really supportive and makes due dates manageable to ensure you get your work done on time. Be prepared for lots of peer conferencing and big-brain usage :) One thing that for sure helped me with this class was asking Ms. A to take a look at my rough drafts and provide feedback. Don't be afraid to ask her to give feedback on your work, you will feel much better about your writing once you've taken her feedback and revised it. Hopefully you enjoy your time in her class, I know I did. :)

Don’t Be Afraid Of Her

One thing that I and many other classmates learned this year is that it’s okay to ask for her help. The last thing you want to do in her class is realize that you are struggling but fail to seek her aid. In all honesty the only way you can get her to be upset with her is either by not trying or just flat out not caring, but if she sees you actively asking for help, actively conferencing with her, she will see that you want to better yourself as a writer. At times the work may seem never ending and it may seem difficult, but I promise you that if you work with her and ask for help everything will be a lot simpler. Ms. A isn’t here to bash your writing, she’s here to see what you can do and se how you can improve. Ms. A has your back through out this year, believe me when I say she isn’t an ordinary teacher. Good luck this year Class of 2022 and remember don’t be afraid of her and ask for help.

Welcome to your Junior year, and Ms.A's class. You made an excellent choice in deciding to be in this class. Like many teachers in Blanson, Ms.A is here to put you on the path towards success. A good thing about her being a millenial, is that she is like a big sister to us zoomers, so you can send her memes, joke, and trust her, just make sure to always respect her! 🌟In this class there will be lots of writing and researching to do, and you WILL grow as a writer if you follow her feedback and tips. Though the work may be heavy with all your other classes, Ms.A is very understanding and considerate with your personal life & assignments, but don't take this for granted, use your extensions for emergencies. (This is also a safe space for mental health.) Show your appreciation through your efforts, communicate with her and your experience this year will be a lot less stressful. Because of Ms.A, I received a Silver Key in a Scholastic contest on an 8-page essay that she helped me revise. I thought it was ready, but after reading her feedback it was 100x better. She's always there to show you there's room for improvement without making you feel bad about something you didn't know. You're gonna love her as much as she loves her students! Thank you, Ms.A, and good luck to y'all Juniors! 🥳

Congrats on being able to take DC English III!!! This is honestly you best choice for a class and you have the ABSOLUTE BEST TEACHER!!! For this class you will need to dedicate time and learn to acknowledge what your peers and Ms.A recommends/ requests from you all. Through that I mean that you need to now put away any pride and step down and listen, understand and apply any suggestions given to you. Through this course you will absolutely have some of the hardest pieces you have ever written but you will grow SO MUCH as a writer!!! It is important to come open minded because there is ALWAYS growth as a writer and you will see this by the end of the first semester. Understand that Ms.A is the best teacher to go to for help, so communicate with her! She will help you grow and she will help you see where you can grow! She is lenient considering most of you will have 2+ DC/AP/Pre-AP classes and she understands. Use your extensions wisely and it is important to learn to manage your time wisely! She is always there to help on your papers and even out of classroom topics like any issues you may have. She is an amazing teacher because she genuinely cares for each and every one of her students, but don't take her for granted! (Or I will find you...... jk.....unless?) Use all of the resources she provides and it is CRITICAL to always look back to help you grow. Walk in to this class knowing you will always be helped and that you have nothing to be scared of! GOOD LUCK AND BEST WISHES TO EACH OF YOU! PS.I am very jealous of each of you, I wish she was my teacher again!!!😭😭

You may not realize it, but there’s so much room for improvement in everyone’s writing. No one is perfect so you have to realize that in this course, you aren’t going to feel like you’ve written the best writing you’ve made in years. This class will make you feel bad at times but only because you’re actually learning. Minimal effort won’t give you the 100 you seek, but maximum effort won’t do it either. The way you pass this course is by opening up and being honest to yourself. You need to figure out what you need to improve on because the truth is that most of you will suck at the beginning of class. Be honest with yourself and your work and ask for help but remember that Ms. A will give you some of the answers that you’re looking for but not all of them. You are the only one who can find the answers to the questions you’ve been asking yourself. You’re the only one who will be able to help you grow. So be honest with yourself and be honest with your work. Don’t expect an easy grade in this class. Goodluck

I'm going to keep this short and to the point. First, Ms. A is a wonderful teacher, and as such she knows how to help you if you are struggling. You WILL NOT make it through the class if all you do is slack off and wait to do everything at the last minute. Secondly, be honest. Like actually, be honest. If you tell her that you're fine and you don't need any help (which you are going to need unless you're a writing prodigy) it will reflect in your grades. When you need help ASK. It really is that simple. Lastly, PAY ATTENTION this isn't a class where you can just look at your homies notes after not attending class one day and be caught up just like that. Learning takes time, and every lesson that she has makes sure you learn every step till the day of the paper.
Did I scare you? If so chillll ouutt. This is an awesome class and to be honest I am sort of envious of you all. I've had so many good memeories in that class room and with the teacher. If you do poorly in the beginning of the class just know that it's normal and that your teacher understands. It will take time to know your weaknesses in writing, but the fun part is overcoming those weaknesses. Keep an open mind in this class and you'll do just fine. Also don't give her a hard time as she'll just do the same to you. That's all I have for you all HAVE FUN.

With all honestly Ms.A has been one of those teacher who has influenced me in many ways. She always pushed me to be my very best, she believed in me despite me turning in her assignments late (bc of my job not bc I'm lazy). She is super super approachable, she's the most friendly person I've ever met. Please pay attention when she's teaching, I cannot stress this enough, if you stop listening for just one second you'll be lost. If you guys ever need help don't feel shy to ask her for advice. And if you're still lost you can come to me and I'll help you cheat, since Ms.A says I had bad grades. Don't be surprised when you see 90s in your grade book Ms. Let me get to the point, its going to be hard, it won't be easy what so ever, which is why its ok to ask for help we all get stuck and need help, feel free to ask any one of us too, I'm pretty sure you'll see us in her classroom once in a while. With that being said I wish y'all the best of luck, again don't be afraid of this class or her, she's super friendly. (Alan, I had to delete your “she’s mean” comment. Stop trying to scare them. 😂)

YOU MADE IT!!!..to junior year lol. You're almost there, don't rush it. Anyway, this class is very interesting, to say the least. Anything STAAR related will go out of the window, so be prepared to adjust to that change. Ask questions! Ms. A is here to help but unfortunately, she is not a mind reader. With that being said, if you are stuck and choose not to ask questions, it will only hurt you. Also, the amount of effort you put into this class MATTERS! Nobody is forcing you to go above and beyond, but if you want an A in this class, you'll need to put in a little more work. In the end, this class is about learning and growth. Please do not beat yourselves up about this class, or any class, that you are taking junior year. Allow yourself to make mistakes and get back up because junior year doesn't last forever...unless, of course, it does. Just kidding!!! Try to have fun!

You made the right choice when deciding to take this class. Even if your parents or maybe even your counselor forced you, you'll thank them later.
You guys are unfortunately going to be doing this class online for some sort of period, which means that the class is tougher. Regardless, here are some general tips to help you:
1. COLLABORATE!!!!!!!!! I really can't stress this one enough. For you to improve your writing, you need feedback, which you can't get unless you talk to people. And don't just go to your friends in the class. Go to people you've never spoken before. Trust me when I say they will tell you things about your writing that you probably never even noticed until they point it out.
2. Ask questions. You haven't gotten the full experience of Ms. A's personality until you ask for help. She will go through your paper slowly and give thoughtful, constructive critiques to help you. That is her job after all. So, if you are the student who has always been afraid to ask for help, unless you want to be mediocre/fail, you need to ask for help.
3. Lastly, take this opportunity to cultivate a relationship with Ms. A. She is not just a teacher. She has made an impact in every one of her students' lives. So even if your the student that just send her memes, you will be appreciated.

I hope you enjoy her class as much as the rest of us did.
