I love these lessons. So many students do not maintain a suitable home environment and this helps the students and even more importantly, the families, to know what is expected and what will set their student up for success.

I think the lessons are a good start to the year. It sets the expectations necessary regarding home environment expectations and growth mindset.

I like doing the in the community expectations close to the first in person event.

It is hard to remember but I think they were engaging. It is hard in orientation bc so many families are still trying to get into programs a lot of the times. Mojo growth mindset kids liked. Grading them is silly in my opinion. HR grades don't mean anything and it just takes more teacher time up.

I think it was ok to be taught during orientation. The Mojo videos at my students grade level were inviting and easy to understand.

It teaches the kids what is expected of them.

The MOJO movies are cute and relatable to the kids, too. I like that they see the same characters when using the DOJO app.

The lessons are too information dense for our younger students and the content goes over their heads. The lessons should be either for the LCs only or reworked for the students at their grade level.

Some families are new to Agora and don't realize how important the home environment is for the student learning, so sharing this out in the beginning is so helpful.

The mojo videos are cute, but I feel like students must get tired of them because I think we use the same ones each year? Could we find other similar videos that present info in a different way?

I know a lot of the students really looked forward to the Mojo videos during Orientation. They really enjoyed them. Teaching growth mindset is a great beginning theme for the year.

Really need the learning coaches to be there while these lessons are being taught. Majority were not so if they got any information it was from the student which I don't feel is as effective. Reminders would also be a benefit to both students and learning coaches.

I feel like the struggle is more on the LC than students. Clean workspace, back up plan, not having other tabs open- kids are not going to do this on their own. It takes an adult. We need the adult to understand, commit to and follow through with. I would love to see a LC contract where the LC signed on these PBIS topics. When they are not making kids do these things we say- LOOK here is your signature saying you would follow through with that role.

I would love to see the information sent out to the learning coaches in some form to remind them of the environment, materials, and engagement expected in the day to day classes.

Some of the activities were too advanced for the younger learners. It was a lot of the parents doing the activities for them because they didn't understand.

Teachers should not bother grading them. There was some repetition that isn't needed with kids. It really falls more on the parents of our younger learners to make sure these topics are being done.

I think that so far they seem to be good. Although in general it is a lot of information for a young student to get on their own at once. Adding in that parent engagement piece here may also prove to be beneficial.

Mojo is fun, lessons are great! We need to enforce them though as a school much better: they need an area, they need an LC w them in the younger grades, they need to complete the extra programs, etc.

For some families these go right out the window...

I found teaching about growth mindset to be very successful this year during orientation. The videos are great and we had a great discussion and I thought my class started the year with an awesome foundation for being "resilient."

Simplifying the topics for our younger learners I think would be beneficial. I do feel they are good topics, but a little too much information for the little ones.

I also feel that the assignments and some of the slides were over the heads of the youngest students. But I really love being able to customize my presentation of orientation to my own class and it just takes a bit longer to get any new cohort students on the same page or caught up.

I think the topics are good, but maybe making simplified versions for k-2 students. I remember having to make some edits to the ppts for my students. Reading over the comments here in this section, I agree that adding in how the LC supports or how we can incorporate that into each would be great, especially for emphasis in k-2. Adding in lots of visuals of the student AND LC sitting at a table or desk together to really emphasize what that support looks like. Emphasis for not working in bed, on floor, on couch would be great too. I am also wondering if it would be good to add in somewhere that emphasizes how the parent supports... Should your LC write your work? Should your LC give you the answer to say on the mic? Should your LC do your keyboarding or capit for you?

The wording is not perfect, but hope my point makes sense. I think especially in our grade band that some parents need to know how to support their child without giving them the answers.
