He pioneered routine preventative healthcare and recognsied the value of social and community relations in his treatment. Hart was also an early advocate of coproduction of treatments and social prescribing. Klinenberg identifies a gorwing population of single "unmarriageable men": poorly educated, unskilled and often struggling with chronic ill health caused by multiple addictions.
