Cleft lip alveolus palate (FLAP) is a congenital malformation of the face that affects the upper lip, the alveolar region next to the hard and soft palate. This topic interests me because the speech therapist, together with a multidiclipinarian team, works with the patient throughout their rehabilitation process. The cleft lip alveolar palate can be detected by ultrasound in the third month of pregnancy, this malformation can be produced by different factors such as stress, drug use or it can be hereditary. The multidisciplinary team works with both the patient and their parents and is mainly made up of a speech therapist, surgeon, orthodontist, psychologist and physiologist. It is important to know about this malformation because as it does not have a probable cause, it is necessary for future parents to know what it is.

The physical examination of the newborn is a semiological procedure that consists of the physical examination of the newborn with the aim of evaluating its physical and neuronal condition. The correct practice of these techniques is of great importance for the collection of information on the state of health of the newborn, through this it is possible to identify malformations and diseases with which the baby can be born. The routine physical exam is done in four times:
1) At birth.
2) Between six and twenty-four hours of life.
3) Prior to discharge from the hospital.
4) Between the first seven and fifteen days of life.
The role of midwives in the care of the adult user is essential for the delivery of comprehensive, person-centered and safe care.
