         <title>1940- The Complex Number Calculator is completed</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br></div><div>In 1939, Bell Telephone Laboratories completes this calculator, designed by George Stibitz. Stibitz stunned a crowd at dartmouth college by performing calculations remotely on the CNC using a Teletype terminal connected to New York over special telephone lines. This is the first time remote access computing was used.</div>]]></description>

Hackers liked it's large scope and they were the ones who wrote the first computerized video game, <em>SpaceWar!</em>, as well as a program to play music. </div>]]></description>
