         <description><![CDATA[<p>Psychology has a wide range of applications in the area of Crime &amp; CJS.</p><p><br></p><p>Forensic Psychology has a crucial role in Criminal Profiling, in which Psychology is applied in order to develop a psychological profile of the perpetrator in order to predict future actions and/or apprehend them and prevent further harm.</p><p><br></p><p>Psychologists specializing in Victim advocacy also play a very important role in the counselling and rehabilitation of victims of crimes, requiring special expertise in the areas of PTSD, anxiety, and depression.</p><p><br></p><p>Psychologists also have a role in prisons, where they not only treat and council the inmates, but also contribute to pre-sentencing assessments and research on rehabilitation programs.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>The area of Competency Evaluations (ie. whether or not the accused is fit to stand trial and/or be sentenced as a sane individual) in the courtroom is also another area which Psychology has greatly contributed to.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>sports psychology looks at the ways to motivate and help atheletes push themselves to achieve physical goals or strive for new highs. It focuses on improving atheletes' mental health to build motivation and concentration. It also helps atheletes in competitive settings such as issues with anxiety, self esteem and relaxation. Many sport psychologists believe that by helping atheletes get into their "zones" and achieving a peace of mind they are able to hone their focus and resilience as well as make better decisions on the spot. Sport psychologists dont only work with athletes, they also work with everyday people helping them with exercise programs and training.          <description><![CDATA[<p>Behaviorists such as B. F. Skinner, have contributed to education by with his the theory of operant conditioning, by introducing the reward and consequences theory, it helps reinforce desirable behaviours while discouraging undesirable behaviors. </p><p><br/></p><p>Constructivism, constructivists argued that humans are active learners who are able to construct knowledge as well rather than just receiving knowledge, (called a passive learner). They the importance of critical thinking through active learning. </p><p><br/></p><p>Experientialism, they contributed by placing importance on experiential approaches to education, they believe that humans are more likely to retain information when they participate in learning processes. They argued that "one person cannot effectively impart knowledge directly to another person; people must learn for themselves." These experiments allow students to make mistakes and learn from it to further strengthen the information they have learned.</p><p><br/></p><p>Social and contextual learning theory, focusing on social interactions between students, it emphasizes the importance of being part of a group being able to affect our development in education and how working with colleagues with different levels of experience can help strengthen each other's growth. it informs the teachers to connect new concepts with applications of concepts to real world contexts (such as where a student lives, works, or any pressing worldly matters if deem applicable).</p>]]></description>
