Sara Fortis is a young woman who fled her hometown in Greece when the Nazis or the Germans had invaded in 1941. She later joined the resistance movement and was a partisan.

Fortis was born in 1927 in Chalkis, a small town near Athens, Greece. When the Nazis had came to her hometown, she knew that it was time to leave. She also heard about Jews being deported and never returning. So, she fled with her mother and settled in a small village of Kuturla. When the place they were settled at wasn't safe anymore, Sara was told that she needed to find a new place to settle in or hide in. While she left, the villagers had agreed to protect her mother.

While she was searching for a new place to hide, she was given the opportunity to become an andarte (guerrilla resistance fighter) and join the resistance. She agreed, but with conditions of letting her recruit other women who wished to fight and form their own unit.

The group of women, who were partisans, and other resistance fighters had many missions to overcome the Nazis and the Germans. They had some successful ones and probably some that failed or not. Overall, the whole group did many things to help other people and help their fate be to live instead of die, and they were proud of what they did.

The impact that Sara Fortis's women made during the Holocaust to resist against the enemy is becoming a band/or group of female Partisans, who made many missions against the Nazis. Some of the missions they had were that they were ordered to throw Molotov cocktails to distract the enemy and allow other Partisans to attack. Other missions or jobs they did included: burning down houses, executing Nazi collaborators, and aiding the men in a way no group of females had done before. Overall, the group/or the unit made a difference in resisting what the Nazis had did and instead did the opposite to get rid of them.
