On that day, i had to go through orientation that included all the staffs. Basically for briefing.

The operation manager, Sir Matthew briefly explained about Mimpi Perhentian Resort regarding background, logo and colorrs.

After that, the talk continues by the Human Resource Manager, Miss Hafzan. She preached about the rules and procedure that must be followed by all the staffs.

Basically, the orientation be done once a year at Mimpi Perhentian Resort to refresh back and to improve the operation here.

At 12 pm, i had lunch together with the staffs.

After zohor prayer, all of us have to gather at the lobby restaurant to proceed with hotel tour. For the hotel tour, Miss Hafzan introduced to us the number of room with its type. Us, the interns and new staffs need to memorise the room.

After asar prayer, we proceed with hiking to windmill. All the staffs were very friendly and treated us, the new comers like a family.

For today, the activity was Island tour. Firstly, all the staffs and i went to visit Kampung Nelayan. At Kampung Nelayan has all the accomodation like school, clinic and atm machine.

After that, we proceed with snorkeling. First, we go to turtle point near to Perhentian besar. We get to see the turtle! After that we continue the trip by going to Rawa Island. The coral under water was sooo beautiful and the water was very clean and clear. 

Back to the resort and have lunch.

At 2:30 pm, we have team building game. Once again, we hiking to windmill but this time was very tough because we have to link with each other in the group and if the connection got break up, we failed and fortunately, my group got 1st place!

Later then, the head of front office shows us (new front office staffs) the procedure to check on the customers in the room and to alert with everything in the hotel room.

Then, at the sun deck, i help En Hafeez to open the umbrella for the guests to sun bathing soon.

After that, i organized the registration book for towel. Since, the customers need to register their name first before taking the towel. This is to prevent the towel not enough and missing. 

After that, i help marketing team to design the promotion. For today’s promotion, Mimpi offered 35% discount for the walk in guest include room and breakfast! Since, today is opening.

I had lunch at 2:00 pm. 

After that, continue working until 3:00 pm. There a two couple who were the first one who register for the towel use.

I have to take care of the towel. If guest want to use pool, i will provide them the beach towel so, it easier for them.

Most of the time, i’ll take care of the towels at the counter towels because people will come to me and asked for the towel.

At 6:30 pm, i started to cleaning up the stuffs for the sun deck because we closed at 7:00 pm.

After that, i check for the pool because we closed at 8:00 pm. I cleaned the pool and washed the floor and setting the chair for closing.

At 6:00 pm, i will clean the sundeck which i will arranged the chair that the guest used for sun bathing and keep the cushions in the beach hut. After 6:00 pm, we not allowed the guest to be at the sundeck again.

On the next day, we will put on the cushions again for the guests. 

At 7:45 pm, i prepared to closed the pool. After 8:00 pm, we are not allowed the guest to be at the pool area.

After lunch, i will take all the beach towels to the laundry and replace the new one into the cabinet. I will fold the towels and arranged them.

At the free time, i will check on kids at the swimming pool and make sure no people smoke in pool area. I will also collect the rubbish at the area.

I also checked at the sundeck area to make sure all the guest comfortable at our place.

I written back the number of people snorkelling into recreation log book. This is to make sure the staff on another shift get the update. 

At 6:00 pm, i will be at the sundeck to prepare for closing and cleaning. I will take all the sundeck cushion and put them all in the beach hut.

At 7:00 pm, we do pool cleaning together. I will push all the sand in the shower so that, on the next day, the guest will comfortably use the shower.

I take care for the towel counters for today. Make sure the beach towels always enough for the guests. 

I will check on the guests at the swimming pool because it is important to check on them for their safety.

At 6:00 pm, i will setting down the sundeck. I closed all the umbrella and politely ask the guest to leave, as the resort procedure was like that.

At 7:00 pm, we will clean the pool and wash off all the sand in the showers.

Then, i will check on the salt using the salinity tester (the thing to check on the salt water). The reading must be in the balanced reading to avoid the accidents happen like poisoning.

If the salt water too higher the pH, we need to add on water inside it.

After that, I will check on the guests that want to go for the snorkelling today. I will call for the boatman to get prepared at 10:00 pm.

I be at the towel counter to make sure the beach towels enough for the guests. 

I eat lunch at 1:00 pm.

I updated in the recreation log book about how many guests do the snorkelling for today, this is to make sure the team aware about the updates.

I checked on the pool area and there a person who trying to smoke at the pool area. I politely ask him to not smoking at the pool area since it was prohibited area to do so.

I do observation at the sundeck area. There were a a lot of cigarettes under the chair. So i suggest to put the sign for no smoking at the area. This will disturb other guests when them trying to relax.  

At 6:00 pm, i swept all the rubbish at the sundeck area.

Unfortunately, the weather not so nice to go for snorkelling. We had to change the time. And i had to call the guests to inform them to rearrange their time.

I send the beach towel to the laundry and get the new one. I folded the beach towel and arranged them inside the cabinet.

The weather for this morning quite okay. So we send all the guests that wanna go for snorkelling yesterday to go by today. All of them so excited.

I speak to Japanese guests since i know a little bit the language. They all look so amaze and i am so happy they replied me with the huge smile.

I assist them to the jetty to show them the boatman. I brief a little bit to them to always listen to the boatman and not go too far from the boat.

After that, i send the beach towel to the laundry. And folded the rest into the cabinet.

I checked on the guests at the pool area.

At 6:00 pm, i clear up at the sundeck.

At 7:00 pm, i clean up at the pool area. I wash off the sandy floor and set off the umbrella. We are not allowed the guest to be at the pool area at night. This is to prevent any accidents happen without our known.

SOP is very important to the organisation.
