I found it very touching and emotion to see what both the students and the teachers had to say. 

Every Monday morning in my classroom we do  Morning Meeting. The closing to each of our meetings is for students to set a goal that is personal to them. While watching this video I was thinking about how many students have goals for hope that they do not feel comfortable saying in front of other students. I think I may try having students share on a piece of paper to me what a personal goal for hope is at our next morning meeting.

I work in a very poor neighborhood with a lot of violence. Many of my students come from not so great households or no house at all. I want my students to feel welcome, loved, and accepted in my classroom. But what I want most of all is for my students to feel safe in school.
