1. Ender doesn’t want to hurt others but does so do protect himself. When he just wants to protect himself, he unintentionally hurts his attackers much more than he is hurt by them. This shows that Ender’s actions affect others.

1. The line between good and evil is blurred here because generally, lies are a bad thing and the truth is a good thing. When this is said in the book, people talk about covering up the truth with lies to protect others. Also, the truth can sometimes not be as useful to tell to the public as lies that can be molded to what is needed. When the lies are told to protect others, the line between good and evil is blurred.

In the Pirates of the Caribbean series, Jack Sparrow is a good representation of the line between good and evil. He partners with Will Turner, but has motives to betray him later on, which can be considered an evil trait. Even though he has an ulterior motive of betraying Will Turner, he is balanced out by his unexpected counts of heroism and camaraderie.

This is an example of how just one little thing can escalate to something larger. This is commonly know as the “Butterfly Effect.”
