I love that there is a district-sponsored place for teachers to implement technology into their classroom design. I also enjoy that it gives the teachers freedom to add students, which would decrease the opportunity for confusion. I think this will be a great tool to further engage our students in the learning process.

My biggest takeaway from this course is the individualized and differentiated learning that can take place on canvas. I also loved the discussion board which I want to implement into my reading centers as a response to independent reading ASAP! I still have some questions about setting this all up in my classroom.

I like the part that you have options for assignments, showing of content, student options for responding and set due dates. I am happy though that I have another option for blended learning that works better and is more student learning friendly for low level learners I don't think this will work, so I'm glad I have other options.

My takeaway from this course is the ability to provide students will the necessary tools to increase student achievement. I would be able to assess them on-grade level but also provide them with resources and activities to bridge the gaps in their learning. I think Canvas is a great way to personalize student learning. There are a lot of different options that can be utilized to reach every student. Even when creating assignments you can offer different options for the students to submit the assignment. For example they can write a paper, create a power point, submit audio etc. I would like to learn how teachers across the district can share what they have created so that more students can benefit.

Having the ability to interact with all students despite their varying range of abilities is a huge plus. This also get us on track with going paperless. Kids love the technology and seem to enjoy anything that allows them to use it.

Biggest takeaway would probably be -- the students being able to show their work in the classroom to their working parents. I had a truckdriver dad at school today who saw the classroom and some of her work for the first time. He would be able to keep up with some of the things at school.

I love the idea of discussions. In class there are a lot of opportunities lost due to time. This tool would allow for students to ask questions and other students to interact on course material in an environment that they are both comfortable in, and when they have time to do so.

I love the idea of Canvas. There are a lot of great things that can be embedded into a course. It a great way to individualize students work and reposes and learning how to collaborate with other on different topics and ideas.

I am excited about the prospect of using this because my students, while comfortable with using their cell phones, do not seem to be particularly comfortable using personal computers and lap tops. I think that this will help them increase their reading comprehension because they will be required to read more of the course. I am also interested in using this in a flipped classroom model capacity.

I also like the idea of a paperless classroom. I saw that I can add media clips but I don't know how to save videos from edpuzzle and upload them to my canvas. I also don't know how to transfer the grades from canvas to my gradebook on vportal.

I had trouble with Vimeo, but was still able to learn about each subject/page by reading the Click documents. I really look forward to setting up a webpage for announcements and discussion questions.

This seems like a great resource to us in the classroom and it is definitely something I will explore more. I think there needs to be some face to face training where we can see first hand how to utilize all the resources Canvas has to offer.

I have to go through this again, print out directions and work through all the modules myself. I think this is a good format for students. However, in an environment where not all students have access to the technology, there is a disadvantage.

I was really moved by how engaged the students in the video features were and how much ownership they had over their learning. It truly is remarkable how comfortable they all are with technology from such an early age, it's ingrained in them.

In the past, I have used seesaw, padlet, edmodo, and other tools, but the students need to remember their passwords for each one and it can become confusing. I love how canvas has all of these tools in one place where students don't need to remember how to use 5 different platforms, they only have to remember to use just this one!

The biggest thing I took away from today was how to create an assignment. I like the idea of using canvas with students and having them submit assignments, especially if it will put the grades directly into the gradebook for me. However I am going to be honest, I find the program a little overwhelming. I think there are a lot of great features, however they are mostly features that I am already using in my classroom with other websites that I am already an expert on navigating. I understand that this is supposed to be a way to get rid of all the extra websites so we are only having to use one site for all of it, however the amount of information presented to me today has me overwhelmed. Being a 1st grade teacher with limited access to technology, I think that my best use for Canvas will be as a communication tool with families to involve them more in their child's learning. It can also be used as an enrichment tool during small groups. I am eager to try this in my classroom.

This course was interesting, but way too much to learn in a couple of hours, and it took more than 2. It is very overwhelming, and I am not sure I will remember much of what I learned today. Technology is great, but I think we do so many things with the kids that it can be overwhelming for them as well. I think this app and program is a great idea to be implemented in the classroom. It seems like a lot of prep work, but after that is completed and you get the idea of the program everything is set and ready to be used. I also like the communication piece that connects parents, students and the teachers. I love that if utilized to its full potential, Canvas could be used for many of the sites/apps that I already use. This could take the place of Remind 101 and Edmodo. My biggest takeaway from this course is that Canvas is a well designed LMS that will be a wonderful way for me to get my feet wet in the world of online learning. I think it will be nice to implement this into my class. The one thing I am still unsure of has to do with combining it with my Class Dojo, Seesaw, and Padlet use. Really like the features that the students can use. They can have discussions and get feedback all with technology. Technology keeps them engaged in the learning. I also like that they can share on here, instead of having to get up in front of the whole class. Some kids are really shy and that talking in front of the class makes them nervous. This would work nicely with a classroom environment where teachers would be able to create pages together with small groups while moving along through the material.

It's a wonderful tool to have as I can include video for my students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Most sites only allow for a wall of text which can be overwhelming and a struggle for my students who struggle to read. Video of the instructor signing directions, discussions, and etc can be helpful. I wish there was more time to take in everything. We did get a few days to complete everything, but I find myself going back again and again to review items. Do we still have access to the videos from the course even after we've completed it? (two pages later, I saw the list of the videos we can use so question was answered after I went further). Thank you!

I really enjoy what CANVAS has to offer both teachers and students. It is far easier than the lesson components of Eduphoria and provides a classroom webpage. It is easier to tag and load materials into Canvas, another great benefit. Very teacher friendly. I can see this as a great tool that is do-able without a lot of additional training. I know there will be questions about detailed procedures, but I do see the manual that is available. Thank you for this virtual experience. I had wanted to spend time learning about this on my own. Having assignments helped 'force' me to dabble.

I am interested in how this will make the distribution of information to students quicker and easier to assess. Time management as an instructor is difficult, but I love that while I am getting additional time back, my kids are learning their own time management strategies. This is a great tool in my production courses where students continuously complete work at different paces and also have gaps of time where they do not have work to complete yet. Now they can learn when they have the time.

Eduphoria just doesn't have everything that I am looking for when it comes to computer-based assessments and it takes A LONG time to create. I like goformative.com, but I have found that they don't work all that great when testing on a computer (have no problems on an iPad).

My biggest take away from this course is my speaking skill. I have improved my speaking skill that you tought how to pronounce the words correctly.
