My name is Samantha McLaughlin. I have spent the last year working diligently towards earning my Board Certified Behavioral Analysis (BCBA) certification within the Adult Services sector of Aspire Living and Learning located in Connecticut. I work closely with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Working with individuals with disabilities has always been a strong passion of mine. I earned my associates degree as a Disability Specialist, received my bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with a minor in Rehabilitation and Disability Studies, and most recently my masters degree in Special Education with a concentrated focus in Applied Behavioral Analysis. With the everchanging new advances of technology, my career goal is to combine my work as a future BCBA with technology.

I am the AT Specialist for Stockton Unified School District in Stockton Ca. I taught Orthopedic Impairment classes for eight years and have been the districts AT specialist for five years. I have followed your work for years and I am a big fan. My districted green lighted this training at the last minute and I am very thankful for this opportunity to learn and grow. As the only AT in a district of 65k students I feel on an island most times. I was dying for some quality and relevant professional development, and it looks like this is it.

I work for Genesee Health System in Michigan. I am a nurse by trade, currently operating in a supervisory role. My staff actually run the show though. 

In my personal life I am a farmer. We have a very small hobby farm with cows, pigs- sometimes, chickens, donkeys and goats.
I love pretty much all types of music- my mood dictates what I listen to. I am a huge Rush fan as well Mike.
Comedies are my favorite movies- The Hangover series and Napoleon Dynamite seem to replay on the TV.
The Office and Schitts Creek got me through the pandemic.

I work as a Supports Coordinator in Michigan for a nonprofit agency called Genesee Health System (GHS). I work primarily with adult individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental illness. Prior to working as a Supports Coordinator for GHS I worked in home care as an Occupational therapist. 

I am a lover of art and enjoy getting lost in the creative process.  When I'm not tinkering around on one of my many projects, I enjoy a good science fiction story. 

I see we have some Rush fans on here. I am really excited to say I finally found a Rush vinyl record a few weeks ago. The Moving Pictures album. I have to give props to the movie I Love You, Man with Paul Rudd for introducing me to the band.

I have been working with our new Assistive Technology Services for a year now and am currently working to build my knowledge and help grow our new service.  Excited to take in all the information through this course.

Music: Grew up raised by the ladies- Tori Amos, Veruca Salt, The Donnas, Bjork, PJ Harvey, Garbage- and my ear continues to gravitate to female fronted bands. From banshees to sirens- girl gangs to goddesses- valkyrie to sorceress- that's where my musical heartbeat is.

Movies: I will always check anything out- but E.T. continues to hold much of my cinematic love, as it was my first movie in a theater. I will probably always be a Jim Henson kid (Labyrinth/Dark Crystal)- and continue to keep my adult eyes peeled for that kind of magic. My name is Drew Carter. I work for a non profit organization called Community Access Unlimited in New Jersey.  I am an Assistant Director for the Community Supports/ Employment program. I have been working with people with special needs and disabilities for about  6 years.  I very excited to learn about AT and how I can use it to help my clients with living their best lives.  

I love ALL types of music, if it sounds wonderful it will be in my playlist. On my down time away from work you will usually find me head deep in a Thriller, Horror, or Fantasy book. Im a lover of Anime (hopefully we have some of anime heads on here). 
I will say that Lord of the Rings will always forever be my one of my favorites for all time.  Other that, I love watching Horror, sci Fi, Thrillers, and Comedies. I am always up for suggestions for movies to watch!
