A fairy garden
Different doll’s house and lots of different dolls, including wooden, plastic and felt, with different skin tones and physical abilities
We have sand and water trays which we use with marine animals, dinosaurs, jungle, safari, zoo and farm animals. Incorporating as much nature as possible with tan bark, rocks/stones, leaves, twigs etc 
We also use mini transport vehicles with these trays

 - I use calico dolls in my practice when preparing children for IV Cannula's and it a great way to attune and build rapport and trust prior to educating and supporting a child.
 - water tray with a variety of miniatures and sensory items like pom poms. 
 - Rock people
 - Scene table (like a Thomas the train one where children can play out stories)
 - Scene mat with floor tray using minatures
 - Wooden models (I use these to teach children about MRI, Fluoroscopy and CT scans)

Have baskets of different characters and objects for the child to create their "world" and tell their story.

I worked with a child that had been exposed to trauma who would create his own world with Lego, and when you were accepted, he would ask you to play. I asked the rules and he issued little men and described what different things were, a lot of detail went into it, in fact it looked like a physical representation of 'fortnight' or something like that. He would constantly change the rules (especially if things didn't go so well for his half of the lego board). But that was the point he had control. He and others worked so hard to build the model.  As the game progressed sometimes the model broke down and that was OK, for me, but the game would stop and the model was repaired. Sometimes when dysregulated the scene would end up in a million pieces, rupture and repair, another opportunity to connect with the child.
I noticed as we worked together and I introduced new carer's to play with him, that eventually, when he was ready, the rebuild would not be the same scenario. 
I think we went through three different scenes before he went home. He was a great kid and had a positive outcome. But at the time I suspected they represented his changing worlds. I'd still loose despite my best efforts, but then I am old!
