Nel 1755 un forte terremoto colpì Lisbona e la cattedrale subì numerosi danni, ma subiti iniziarono dei progetti di ricostruzione che cessarono alla morte di Maria I e non ripresero mai perchè le sue rovine erano e sono considerate ancora oggi particolarmente affascinanti.

After that, we were at the Sintra's castle and there we can admire at one of the best amazing landscapes which I've seen.
You can watch at the long wall line which protectived the Castel from the enemies. I also see a part of Lisbon and in the background the ocean. We walked for a long while and walked the long Walls of Sintra. It really was a long walk! We also visited the Castle. At a certain point, it started pouring rain and we all got wet! Once at the castle we waited about an hour for the gates to open for school groups. At 15.30 we got in and quickly visited.
Our last stop was the westernmost country of Europe.

After a quick "treasure hunt" for information on Belem, we returned to Cascais and went for a swim. Unfortunately it started to rain and thunder struck, so I wasn't able to go for the swim in the ocean.
