As well as images that show diversity of bodytypes and family styles to show parents/careres that we except how different we all are and how we support individuals. last of all we can include images that show all children in the class room cultures and ages included within the classroom.

However if the child is seen to struggle to read/ understand the pictures and boards around the classroom you can use dual languag posters or flash cards to help them understand what we are showing them on the classroom walls. if the child is more confident in their home language it may be more beneficital for the child to have a translater or TA to support ther individual needs.

Your childs home language is always excepted within our setting. the reason for this is because it makes them feel welcome whatever their background is. To show that we except all children within our classroom we have a welcome poster above the door bevore entering the classroom, on ths poster it is seeen that all the children are holding one another hands with their dfferent language and culture. As a practitioner we could also show to the children that we except their home language by talking basic language to them in the language they speak in their home enviorment. this will help form an atttatchment between a child and the teacher.

If the child is accepted within the classrom it makes them feel safe and secure. Accepting one another helps develop their emotional development as theyre bonding with other children and forming friendships which makes their self confidece much higher than normal. However if this wasnt the case and the child wasnt accepted within the setting it will make the child feel un happy and have low self esteem effecting their learning and dvelopment. This will effect their emotional development as they'll be layed back within their daily routine, you will see that they wont be involved within activities in the classroom and will be seen to not trust practitioners and simply communicate with actions such as a nod of the head or simply just one word answers. Not forming relationships will also effect the childs social skills as theyre not communicating with others around them, therefore as a practitioner its important to help support the child feel like their welcome so they will build their confidence and gain their sical skills by communicating with others.

By involving you within your childs learning you will start to understand the techniques we use to support your child. This would be your oppertunitiy to speak up to tell us about your child and how they are at home such as other techniques you know that works best with your child at their home enviorment. If the case is that other techniques are used at home and you mention this to one of our staff then for your child benefit we will try and involve this within our school enviorment.

when meeting with parents we can see if its okay for the childs benefit to call in a translator or TA to support them with their home language in a different setting at school.

if you feel as a parent that your child needs support at home with their English were more than happy to help you as a parent to get simple activities to how you can support your child in their English language.

Within your child's day at school we will also help them as individuals to support their English language, ways that will be beneficial for your child will be having TA's working with them on a daily basis and having a key worker system so that they rely on one teacher which they get more attention with their learning. During these sessions we will be helping your child with simple words and phrases in their English language. Although it will be more beneficial for your child to develop their English language not only at school but at home. Therefore so parents can support their child's English at home it may be more supporting for the adult as well as the child to have flash cards with basic language of englsh on to help your child learn key english terms at home. You can carry out these simple tasks at home just before bed as the actvitites will be quick and snappy. although if you as parents think that our child has understood and learnt all the words that have been sent home for you to learn then its ideal that you as a parent/carer talk to a member of staff so we can give you more basic words for your child to learn and extend their knowledge.

If you as parents are struggling to help suport your child due to your home langage then we as a team can help you. we can hold meetings to go through with the work we have gave to your child to learn their english at home. As a parent if your understanding what your teaching your child at home then in this case it will be even more beneficial for you to as well as speaking your home language but speak english so your child will feel more confident in using this language and will use it alot more in the school setting, the child feeling more confident with their english language will make it much easier for us as a practitioner to support your child as we will understand them alot more.

P7/D2 - Activities and Routines that are used to develop your child's English. (English) Atividades e rotinas que são usadas para desenvolver a sua criança é inglesa. (Portugese

when a child is involved within activities and routines they'll get a better understanding on what theyre learning and picking up key vocalbuary as you will be communicating through out the activities and routines that are set through out the day.

You can create activities that will link with in the childs development such as language. For creating activities you can do work sheets that help a child with their phrases in the English language. when carrying out the activities its important to communicate with the child as this will help with their development language as well such as their vocabulary. Activities will consider the child's knowledge on spelling, phrases and grammar. When communicating with the child its important to ask questions and you will begin to see their understanding on what they're doing and what they've learned from the activity. However its important to change the activities daily just a tad to push the children in the area that the activity is looking at, this will push the child to develop their further English language as well as this the child will not be getting bored from the activity as it changes daily, for example one day working on sound and then the next day they could be doing the sounds they've learnt to make up a word such as C-A-T.

Creating routines for children is a great success in the setting, not only do we plan for the child in this case but we let them have some freedom when it comes to routines. We plan to let the child join in within their routines that we set such as PE changing we recoommened to let your child do things freeely and in their own way to show us their personality and how they think. Therefore by having daily routines the child will gain more understanding on whats happening each day they arrive to the setting. keeping the routine pretty much the same each day will help a child show that they understand whats been asked from them. In my opinion i suggest that routines is a good way to help a child develop theire key phrases within a day such as lessons to help and support them through their english language.

When observing a child who has another home language, you can watch the child individual to see how much language they can actually use in their additional language. Observing the child wil give you an idea on what stage they are at what support they need next to begin progress on the language they speak.
you can beging to see if they struggle in certain areas when it comes to speaking the language for example they might show they have a wide range of vocalbuary but they may struggle to put these words in to short sentences or phrases.
