The Alamo occurred in what is now San Antonio, the Texans were fighting for freedom against Mexico. The Alamo was a building where fighters were staying, they were attacked by 1,000 Mexican soilers and lost. They later fought Mexico again his time winning and screaming “remember the Alamo !”. Karlee lives Iowa, Iowa’S hisortstarted In 1840 when the  Winnebago Indians where forced out of their homes in Wisconsin by the US government. They were offered land in what is now Iowa. The one thing I have noticed about Iowa and Texas is that they both fought to gain the land or freedom they wanted. Blue Grass the name of the place were Karlee lives comes from the land that was very popular for traveling and camping by the Indians. The grass was eventually worn down and bluish green sprouted resembling Blue Grass Kentucky, that is how Blue Grass Iowa got its name.

Jeffery lives in California and movies there are very similar but a lot more extreme than here. Music in Texas is mostly pop and lots of country. In California there is always a new celebrity on the rise and the way they talk, dress, and act can very much everyone. Popular music is hip-hop, pop, and rap. Some things that California and Texas do have in common is that YouTube, Snapchat, and Instagram are how trends begin and spread. Penpals thought me that the a person in Croatia can have so much more in common that I ever thought, even more in common than someone in America! People are way more similar than I ever expected but we still have unique things about us because of where we live and how we live.
