Description: Originally, this Betta fish is from southeast Asia, specifically Thailand. They tend to eat more pellets type food. They typically live to 3-5 years. This is a male so he cannot have babies with other fish.

1) The fish doesn't get along with many fish, but it does get along with the Corydoras catfish and snails.

2) My fish is semi-aggressive, but should get along with the other fish. I won't have the purchase multiple types of fish. I might have to keep some fish with big fins away as the Betta might nip at it.

2)The Samurai betta comes from warm, shallow freshwater habitats in Southeast Asia such as rice paddies, floodplains, and slow-moving streams. These areas are filled with plants like water lilies, crypts, vallisneria, and floating plants that provide shelter and hiding spots. Bettas are surface and mid-water dwellers, not bottom feeders, and they feed on insects and larvae near the surface. They are used to calm, slow-moving waters with a slightly acidic to neutral pH. They stay near the surface to breathe air and light easily reaches their habitat. Bettas are strictly freshwater fish, so their natural environment has no salinity.

I am choosing to add live plants, such as floating plants and leafy species, because in the wild bettas use vegetation for hiding and resting. I will also make sure the tank has calm water with little current, since bettas are used to slow-moving or still waters and don’t thrive in strong filters. I won't need a heater because the natural room temperature is around 75–82°F, and that match's their natural tropical environment. Finally, I’ll include plenty of surface access without a lid that blocks air, because bettas often breathe from the surface using their labyrinth organ.
