If you live in the European Union you feel more connected to everyone in it. As a citizen you are also granted all of the privileges and rights offered by the country you reside in.

Ako živiš u Europskoj uniji, osjećaš se povezan sa svima u njoj. Kao stanovnik zemlje u kojoj prebivaš, ostvaruješ sva prava i privilegije te zemlje. 

I think being an European Citizen is great because you are able to travel and pass borders without passports. This opens up many more job and education opportunities for people. If you live in the European Union you feel more connected to everyone in it.

Mislim da je odlično biti europski građanin jer možeš putovati i prelaziti granice bez korištenja putovnice, što otvara puno mogućnosti za posao i obrazovanje. Ako živiš u Europskoj uniji, osjećaš se povezanim sa svima u njoj. 

There are strict guidelines followed for any issues that occur within the EU. This prevents any of these countries from getting into large political or economical problems with one another and promotes peace throughout the continent. 

Mir u Europi
Postoje točne smjernice za sve što se događa u EU. To sprječava međusobne političke ili ekonomske probleme između europskih zemalja i promovira mir na cijelom kontinentu. 

Politician in the past have worked really hard to give us this chance and it's not only a pleasure for us to take advantage of it, it's a duty.

Being a European citizen is something bigger than being an Italian or German one: we have to work all together to make this big project work: make Europe economically but, above all, socially united.

I am Italian, because I am part of a nation with its own tradition and language, but at the same time I am European, because I am part of a community with its values that manage to connect different nations despite lots of differences."

We have so many possibilities for our lives and our future, and we only need to learn how to use them.

One of the most important rights we have is the possibility to travel around the European countries without obstacles. Often we don't pay attention to this this aspect but we should think about it and how lucky we are. Nowadays, teenagers are always travelling, driven by the desire of discover, learn and know new things; the European Union is the perfect place to do it. I feel like we are a big family, with the same rights, the same opportunities and a great freedom.

For us it's a Dream.

I see Europe as a light, as a Sun that can guide my steps; these other guys, they also see it as a light, a hopeful, warm, welcoming, light of a lighthouse; Seen after hours and hours travelling in a sea they didn't want to cross, leaving their land and their heart with it.

Questi sono i giorni in cui Europa significa "futuro", "pace" e "speranza" per tanti ragazzi come me. Per noi è un Sogno. 
Un sogno di sicurezza, un sogno di opportunità, un sogno di vita. Vedo l'Europa come una luce, un Sole che può guidare i miei passi. Questi altri ragazzi, anche loro la vedono come una luce, la luce calda, accogliente e piena di speranza di un faro, avvistato dopo ore e ore di viaggio in un mare che non volevano attraversare, lasciando la loro terra e il loro cuore con essa.

When we elect a leader we should be aware of our impact on the balance of the game.

Being a European citizen means to be free. In many countries people are not allowed to say what they think and they have not the rights that everyone should have. The main 6 rights are collected in the Charter of Fundamental Rights

of the UE and they include the freedom of expression and equality between man and women, ejich are the most important rights for me. Europe also means culture and education: many programs of educational exchanges are promoted by EU so that young people can study abroad and discover new cultures

and traditions.   Being a European citizen also means to belong to Europe, in fact the EU continuously tries to explain what Europe is

to let the people feel like a real citizen of this country. A way to feel like

this is to be involved in EU decisions, like voting in the European Parliament

elections, so that the citizen becomes active. Peace is also so important for

us, in fact we are against wars, discrimination and conflicts.

Another important factor is that I can interact not only with the people that live close to me, but I'm connected to all the continent, because Europe is a continent and I'm proud to live here.

United in diversity
Being a European citizen means being part of a big reality. Europe is so big that sometimes we do not realize what being united really means. Like the flag shows, every state is as important as the other ones because living in Europe means cooperating to let every country be our home. Travelling and making experiences abroad is much easier so that what seems far away is easy to get, actually. It is important that young people actively get involved into the European Union life, because it can lead to a lot of advantages for a better future.

Think of your future, improve the present!
Being a Europen citizen does not only mean living in a country of the Union, but also being part of a unique, compact and cooperative community. This sense of community offers every citizen the same rights, that can be used to erase cultural differences among all the people that live in this big “house”. We believe that  getting informed about them is the first step to strengthen and build this cooperation. So, it is important to work together to make OUR  goal come true. Think of your future, improve the present!

The advantages of the EU
I am Chiara, I live in Italy and I am a European citizen. How can we see that Italy is a European State? There are many tiny things that we take for granted but that affect our life every day. Travelling: if, for instance, we want to plan a journey, we can easily do it in all the European states without many controls. And it is easily connected with the currency, because all of us have the same one, and it allows being   freer to travel and to feel at our home. Safety: it is a very important issue thinking of the last sad attacks of the last years, and considering the whole matter from a personal point of view. Information: thanks to international information we can know what happens in every place in Europe and stay up to date on everything. In my opinion, “union” means hands touching and supporting each other, always and in spite of everything.

Being a European citizen: our advantages.
The word “union” means collaboration and common action; every European citizen put these principles into practice to achieve freedom, equality in rights and possibilities for the future. Being a citizen of the United Europe allows us freedom of movement: something fundamental for young people who, like us, have to practice the European languages to be successfully engaged in the work environment.

 What does being a European citizen mean? Being a European citizen implies many rights: joung people, for instance, have the possibility of getting  an education abroad and of seeing the academic qualifications they achieve, recognized all over Europe. Citizens can travel across the EU without residence permit or passport.  The Euro, the common currency, has been adopted to promote  commercial exchange. The principles that we share, as European citizens, are equality, solidarity and peace; for this reason the EU guarantees  us protection, equality between men and women, free health care all over the continent. When 18 years old everybody has the right to vote and they can actively be involved in the political life. We are Italian and European citizens as well, and we are proud of it.

The inhabitants of twenty-eight countries are European citizens and they can use the same currency in the main countries of Europe.  European citizens have rights in every member state regarding health, transport, defence, job , education and  opportunities, thanks to international projects. Living in Europe means having the opportunity to deepen the knowledge of different  languages and to travel across Europe to collect experiences and start a  career.  

 For example, when planning a holiday we don’t need to worry too much because, thanks to Europe, we can move freely from one country to another.

This is connected to the importance of having the same currency, which simplifies things a lot and helps us to feel at home wherever we go. There is also much more safety, both talking about the terrorist attacks of the last years and our own welfare, because Europe ensures a protection in case of illness or accidents even in other countries. This general safety exists also thanks to the knowledge of important information and the strong contacts between governments.

 To conclude I think that union means to be stronger together and to be always ready to help each other, something that must happen also with the countries that are part of Europe.  

We think that Europe should be seen just like a real big home where a lot of different people live together sharing all  good and bad things. We need to understand that accepting the differences between the cultures  living together in the same house is the key for a happy and great cooperation. This is the only way we can go in if we want to erase big problems of our society, such as racism, terrorism and wars, problems that are still ruining our wonderful world.      

Being European means that I can be free to do what I want with my future, that I can become whoever I want and dream big.

Most of all it means that I don’t have to hide, that I have the possibility to pursuit my dream of happiness and build my own family, knowing that I will always have my back covered and that someone, somehow, will always help me in order to fulfil my needs.

Being European, for me, comes down to freedom and protection, it’s like a relief that nowadays we all need.

 I, being a European citizen I have many advantages, among them, I can live in 28 different countries, we have fair prices between the countries, among others. The 28 countries of the European Union are closely linked and have a great spirit of mutual aid Living in Europe is the best there is.
Como é viver na Europa?
Eu, sendo um cidadão europeu tenho muitas vantagens, entre elas, posso morar em 28 países diferentes, temos precos justos entre os paises, entre outros. Os 28 países da União Europeia são bastante ligados entre si e têm um grande espirito de entre-ajuda. Viver na Europa é do melhor que há.

A União Europeia é uma organização muito "pesada" porque abrange muitos países e é difícil que os 28 estados-membro estejam sempre de acordo, de forma que tem que ter uma boa organização. A UE tem várias vantagens como o facto da existência de apenas uma moeda para todos os países que integram a zona euro e a leve circulação de pessoas, bens e capital.

Na minha opinião a Europa é um lugar maravilhoso, este continente está cheio de novas oportunidades para o nosso futuro, como as universidades, pois temos as melhores universidades do mundo, como Oxford e Cambridge, estas universidades permitiram formar os melhores cientistas. Graças a isso, temos um dos melhores laboratórios do mundo - Cern, e considero isto realmente importante para o nosso continente porque foi nesse lugar que muitas coisas revolucionárias foram descobertas, mudando a história da Europa e do Mundo.
