Throughout his letters from I to IV, he carries with him an ambition to establish himself as a remarkable figure and as a higher being by trying to overcome nature just as Victor once did, but ultimately succumbs to isolation in the process. </p><p><br/></p><p>TS 1: Walton’s desire to explore undiscovered lands and bring honour to his name overriding all of the other dangerous aspects of his journey show how ambitious he is. </p><p><br/></p><p>TS 2: Due to this ambitious nature in Walton Robert, it motivates him to try and prove himself in ways no man could possibly do which is to conquer nature itself.</p><p><br/></p><p>TS 3: As such, all these wants and desires he has ends up pulling him further away from others, causing him to feel lonely and isolated from the rest of the world. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>OI:  Through the letters, Shelley's portrayal of Captain Robert Walton hints to readers the personality and character of Frankenstein as both of them share many traits. </p><p><br/></p><p>TS1: Walter was shown to have a huge thirst of knowledge and excitement during the start of his trip.</p><p><br/></p><p>TS2: However as the letters goes on, this excitement and ambitiondied down slowly, leading to a feeling of loneliness while on a pursuit of knowledge, which exactly mirrors Victor when he was creating the monster.</p><p><br/></p><p>TS3: After the discovery of Victor and his sharing of his own story, Walton realises how much in common he had with Victor and learns about the demise of Victor that was caused by his ambitious nature in the thirst for nature.</p>]]></description>

His firm ambition to discover lands that no man has entered before, was not solely driven by his curiosity and passion. Instead, it is his deep desire for glory and to be known for it. </p><p><br/></p><p>TS2: Robert is the embodiment of the human desire of greed. As even when he has obtained many things in his life, it could never satisfy his hunger for more, hunger to uncover undiscovered lands despite the knowledge of danger. </p><p><br/></p><p>TS3: Robert’s persistence and resilience is admirable during his voyage, when met with obstacles, he continues put on a brave front for his sailors on board and imparts hope to the people around him.  </p>]]></description>
