Grace for President written by Kelly DiPucchio relates to the book, She Persisted by Chelsea Clinton. Both books portray the importance of hard work when something gets tough.

In Grace for President Grace learns that there has never been a female president. When her class holds an election she decides she is going to run for president. Grace works very hard to design her campaign. She even came up with a slogan, gave speeches, and held rallies. Grace had doubts about going up against one of the classes most popular boys. Grace pushed through her doubts and never gave up. Grace's hard work paid off when she won the election by two votes.

In She Persisted thirteen women's stories are shared. Each of these stories expresses how their hard work and persistence made a huge impact. Harriet Tubman risked her own life to lead slaves to freedom. Without Tubman's hard work many slaves would not have been freed and lead to safety. Claudette Colvin took a stand by refusing to give her seat on the bus to a white women. She fought for her rights as an African American. Colvin's hard work lead to Rosa Park's refusal to get up, which later lead to the Civil Rights Movement. Without this persistence we may not have equal rights like we have today.

As you can see both of these books share the idea of hard work and persistence paying off.
