         <description><![CDATA[<div>It was passed on April 5 1774. Increased tax on sugar (mostly molasses for rum). The molasses act helped to make the english make the sugar act.Because it was not enforced they needed new rules. Because of this the colonists were losing profits and in economic depression. In 1776 it was repealed.   </div><div><br></div>]]></description>

The colonists were mad that they were being taxed on this. They even set up the "stamp act congress" who opposed the act. &nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Passed on March 24 1765. It made the colonists house any redcoats that ask to. Many colonists refused to let redcoats in their house. Because they refused to listen the parliament suspended the governor and legislator. The colonists also had to care for the solders at their own expense. It was repealed in 1770.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Passed in 1767. Named after Charles Townshend who convinced the parliement to make the act. It taxed glass, lead, paint, paper and tea. It got repealed in 1770 except for the taxes on tea. Because of the taxes on tea the patriots started the Boston tea party.</div>]]></description>

         <title>The Boston Massacre</title>

Eventually there were over 50 colonists at the scene. An object thrown from the crowd struck Private Montgomery who fired into the crowd. After a few more solders fired into the crowd eventually killing 5 and injuring 3 </div>]]></description>

         <title>Battle Of Lexington And Concord</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>First battle. There was a stand off between militiamen and redcoats. Then someone (unknown) fired a shot. Immediately both sides started firing. Seven died and nine were wounded in the militia. Only one redcoat was wounded. When the redcoats were marching back to Boston militiamen fired on them the whole walk back to Boston. At the end 73 were killed and 174 had been wounded in the British arm. 49 were killed and 39 were wounded in the continental army.</div>]]></description>

He was a master silversmith.&nbsp; He took part in the Boston Tea Party. and was principal rider for Boston's Committee of Safety. In that role, he devised a system of lanterns to warn the minutemen of a <strong>British</strong> invasion, setting up his famous ride on April 18, 1775. He was an active member of the Sons Of Liberty and took part in the Boston Tea Party. He is most famous for his "midnight ride" where he went to warn Samuel Adams and John Hancock in Lexington about the British's movement toward Concord and Lexington.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <title>Battle Of Bunker Hill</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>June 16, 1775. The British want to claim Bunker Hill to get complete control of Boston Harbor. Colonists built 6 ft high dirt wall night before. General Howe British said the "rebels" did more work in one night then his army would have done in a month. The British fired cannons at the fortress with their ships at the dirt wall with no effect on the wall. The British marched up a hill towards the Patriots but the Patriots mowed them down. The British retreated to the bottom of the hill only to be sent up by General Howe. The Patriots lose their ammo and get pushed back by the British. The British won the battle but have had 226 men killed and 828 wounded. The Patriots had 115 killed and 305 wounded.</div>]]></description>
