Traditional Austrian fare such as breaded chicken, boiled beef and Gulasch soup is served in almost all establishments.
If you want to try the diversity of the Austrian gastronamy we suggest you starting from the simple Heuriger wine tavern to the family-run Gasthaus, historic Viennese cafés and smart gourmet restaurants. Those establishments have been highlighted in recognition of an exceptional feature celebrity chef, exquisite food, inviting ambience or simply great value.
If you want to enjoy a nice drink don't worry that Austria is a source of excellent wines and good rich beers. Austrian wine is mainly white, though there are excellent local red wines, we suggest going to Ottakring district to taste the best beers in their local brewery and if you want to enjoy some nice wine we suggest going to O Boufés, one of the first bistros in Vienna.
