Matilde Gattoni is a 43 year old French/Italian author who speaks English, Italian, and French. Her photography career started in Palestine in 2000. In Palestine, Matilde was photo journaling the second intifada. Now, Gattoni is well known for her photos covering social, environmental, and human rights issues around the world. For her photos she has won the IPA, International Color Awards, Invisible Photographer Asia, Px3, LensCulture Exposure Awards, and the San Francisco International Film Award. All across her social media, she has pictures. Most of the pictures are extras from whatever project she is working on to try and spread awareness. Some however is of Brad pitt and magazine articles that she wants to raise awareness on.

Gattoni "speaks to anyone who will listen". All of her images can be found on her website;no-one sponsors them. Her photos are to show people the ongoing problems that they don't recognize. For example, on her Instagram she has a post of these Lebanese women showing their opinion about Isis. I don't believe any of her posts are meant for either men or women individually; i believe it's meant for all humans. I do believe that it has a pathos appeal though. Most of Gattoni's photos are of people, and their surroundings and facial expression are what get you. Matilde's goal is to spread awareness

Matilde took "The Queens of the Jungle" in south Africa. Even though she takes pictures from all over the world, South Africa is a place Gattoni enjoys taking them. Matilde's "The Queens of the Jungle" collection started because of a group of some. Those women came together to try and stop poaching.

The Blacks Mambas is the first majority female anti-poaching unit in South Africa. They started their organization in 2013 and having been growing and striving ever since then. The Black Mambas strive to make the land of South Africa the most undesirable place to poach. They do this by disarming traps already set up. They also try to warn people beforehand by informing them about it.

Most of the animals being poached are elephants and Rhinos. Elephants and Rhinos are being targeted because of the horns they possess. Their horns are used for medicines in Asia and considered very valuable. Most of the people who come to poach are people in the black market.
