While Wollstonecraft is credited in her understanding of ancient philosophers, she carved her own path of political philosophy. She worked to establish women's status in political situations and her work is still widely applicable to feminist and political debate. While some discredit her work for what has become feminism, she held her own against prominent political figures and philosophers of her time. She maintained a conservative political viewpoint while arguing against what she called slavery of women.

I decided on Mary Wollstonecraft because she had worked on political philosophy. After looking over the sources I found on her I was shocked to see how relevant all of this still is today. Arguing for political and civil advocation for women, fighting a patriarchal political system, everything I found on her has stayed or increased in relevance.
