I am grateful for the entire 44th as everyone was very enthusiastic and committed throughout the session. We all were very energetic during the part where we filmed the cheer and constantly engaged each other throughout the session. When we needed to be more serious, for example during the discussion session we were up to task and tried our best to meet our session objectives.

2. What is something important you learned today ?

I learned the true importance of cohesiveness. We have had a little issue with being more interconnected with our ideas as we fail to discuss with each other. This was explicitly seen during our podcast sharing as each committee had a different idea of what was going to happen for filming. I believe that we can learn from this and aim to better communicate with each other so that everyone is on the same page. 

3. From the experiences you gained today, what is one thing you would have done differently and why?
 I would have tried to talk to those from other committees so as to gauge what every committee had panned for podcast. This would have prevented the confusion that was present during the podcast presentation and doing this would have enabled us to alter our current plan during the time we discussed with our own committees.

I am very grateful for my fellow Venn councillors as I feel that everyone is able to contribute greatly for all the discussions. Although there are many of us in Venn, we are all still able to listen to each other’s ideas and opinions without leaving anyone out! I am also very grateful that we are all able to work well together as a team which makes doing council work more fun and enjoyable! 

2. What is something important you learned today? 

Something important that I learnt today would be the 3 Bs in the sharing of the 43rd Council. They include be task oriented, be resilient and be creative. I think these three points brought up by the 43rd would be very useful to keep in mind for future planning of events. Most of the time while planning I tend to dive straight into things without stopping to think about what the event needs for it to be a success. Therefore I believe that I should keep these 3 points in mind before and during the planning of future events. 

3. From the experiences you gained today what is one thing you would have done differently and why? 

One thing I would have done differently is to make more effort into getting to know other council members. I realised that I still am not familiar with slightly less than half of the 44th council board. As today was the first session that we were put into respective committees for podcasts, I had to work with some council members that I have not met before. Thus, I’d like to make more effort to get to know all the council members in the 44th board. 

I an very grateful for the ICs - be it podcast, house or day ics ! i feel that everyone has given it their all and their effort is really commendable. I am grateful that although they do not get to participate in all the games or ice breakers they plan, they still put in their best effort so that everyone else will be able to experience happiness !!! this really goes to show their selflessness and altruism as they act selflessly for others, and plan things meticulously and solve problems productively, all for the sake of the entire council.

what is something important i learnt today?

i learnt the importance of spontaneity and solving issues, whenever they arise, as fast as possible. the problems we face are not so kind as to give us breathing space to sort everything out - we must face them head on and act aptly. it is of no surprise when things go as unplanned but that should not dampen our spirits ! when everyone comes together and think of ways to combat whatever issues, that moment of eureka where everyone's ideas just click - that is something worth experiencing at least once in a lifetime .

from the experienced ive gained today, what is one thing i would have done differently and why?
i would have took charge more and be more active in the discussions and not be intimidated by the other strong leaders !

I am grateful for my subcomm group as they continuously gave out very gd ideas throughout the whole discussion and were very bright and energetic.

2. What is something that I learned today? Explain

I learned that communication is very important as in order for the group to work efficiently and coordinate with the other subcomms to get a smooth plan running communication is vital otherwise the project will be in pieces.

3. From today’s experience, what is one thing that could be done differently?
I think that I could have been more alert to what was going on as I lost focus and was not able to catch on to what the ICs were saying so it was pretty confusing not knowing what was going on and it would slow everyone else down because I didn’t catch on to the ideas shared.

I am truly grateful for the day ICs. They were able to swiftly come up with a plan to catch up with the previous unfinished agenda without causing a bug fuss. They were also very enthusiastic when presenting which made the council in general more lively and less tense/stressed. I am also grateful for the other ICs because even though there were many setbacks, they still put in so much effort to let our council meeting be as fruitful as possible.

-What is something important that you learnt today? Explain.

I learnt that the creativity, determination and the drive to become a good leader does not come easily. Even if it may be demoralising, a good leader will still think optimistically and be spontaneous in adapting to the new situation. As what the 43rd had taught us about the 3Bs, we need to be resilient, creative and task oriented. The 44th council has just begun our journey but it is perceivable to say that we are all putting our utmost effort to make the events fun and meaningful.

-From the experiences you gained today, what is one thing you could have done differently? Why?

I believe that i should communicate more with the other subcommittees. When planning for events, especially big events, many small parts of this event will overlap between the different subcomms, so if we were not to communicate efficiently and frequently, there will be alot of differing plans. And when we consolidate each subcomms’ plan together, there will be some areas that have different approaches and motives. Thus I believe that the I could have gone around more to communicate with the other subcomms, which for me was the interview and editing subcomms more.
