When I came into the unknown world I met six amazing mentors that I knew were going to help me get through my first semester of high school. These new six teachers of mine were very helpful from the beginning. Every question I had, they answered, every project that i faced, they helped me understand the reasoning behind why I was making it, and very challenged that I faced, we faced it together. I knew from the first day that I would always have my teachers beside me as my amazing mentors.

My statement illustrates this step because the mentors of heros are always there to help them whenever they are in need of assistance, training or anything else that they need. The mentor is the person who helps the hero to succeed their mission/ journey. This is what my teachers are doing for me. Just as a heros mentor will do for them.

My biggest temptation was choosing my academic life over my social life. This was the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life. I have always had enough time to do both but when the homework load hit hard from the unknown world, I knew there was going to have to be a sacrifice. This was very hard for me to do. It was my biggest temptation. It still is today. It’s not easy to say no to your friends when you know they are going to go do something fun without you. I admit, I have made the wrong decision many times by choosing to go hang out with my friends before I did my homework. This actually caused me to be more stressed because I could not enjoy myself as much because I knew I had to go home and do homework.

My statement illustrates this step because many heros face tough temptations sometimes. Heros also sometimes make the wrong decisions. Temptations make a heros journey harder because if he goes down the wrong path, the journey might end up going the way he thought it would.

Hercules’s temptation was Meg. Meg proves to be a temptation because she tries to seduce the weakness out of him. Also, she ends up falling for him and he ends up falling for her but they both don’t know about it. She is a temptation because she gets inside of Hercules’s head and get him to only think about her and not his “mission”.

My gift of the goddess was when my final report card came home for the semester. This was my biggest accomplishment. It felt good to come home and see my “reward” sitting on the table waiting for me to open it. I knew at that moment that all my temptations that I refused and all the help I got from my mentors, payed off. This was my proof. I felt very proud of myself at that moment in time. This was my gift I received for my hard work.

My statement illustrates this step because whenever a hero does something great like finish a mission, rescue a damsel in distress, or saves the city. He receives a gift “ of the goddess” to show the peoples appreciation. This shows that he did something great in order to get this special recognition
