Taxes help elevate the level of living in a country. The government gathers this money and utilizes it to fund social projects. The government helps secure the economy and provides public and good services for the people. 

I chose this assignment because it shows how much taxes can affect the economy. I compared Hawaii taxes vs. Alaska taxes and there is a difference in the two different states.
