There are discordant opinions on this movement. 

According to the Hong Kong newspaper “The South China Morning Post”, the group has "kidnapped," "tortured" and "brainwashed" people in order to convert them. Similarly, the Associated Press Reports that the group is accused of "using threats, violence and other illegal measures" to recruit members. 

On the other hand, according to the New York Times, this cult is not dangerous. The Chinese communist party is trying to make it look bad because they don’t want the movement to gain power. 

They are famous for the attack on the Tokyo subway. The attack was carried out by members of Aum Shinrikyo to distract police from carrying out a raid on the cult's headquarters. After the attack, the police investigated deeply and found out that the cult was involved in drug production and other criminal activities. The cult was declared illegal by most of the countries. 

Luc Journey has always been interested in alternative medicine and he started to have a little group of flowers that liked his research in this field. During one of his trips around the world, he met Joseph di Mambro. They were both interested in the occult and both participated in some cults such as the "Ancient and Mystical orders".  They decided to start working together and combine their energies to create a new organization and in 1984 they founded the order of the Solar Temple. 
The two men believed they were the heirs of the medieval Knights of Templar. Their sect was very elective and the members were convinced to procreate with different women that were part of the group. In this way, the newborn can be even more special than the parents, and the cult can grow. In the 90s the faith of the followers began to crumble. They were requested to donate a lot of money to the cult and people started wondering why they needed all this money. Most of the people jumped ship from the order when they discovered that Luc had been arrested for trying to buy illegal firearms in Canada. 

At this point, Luc and Joseph decided that they needed to come up with a way to restore the faith of the followers. So they started to prepare themself for the transaction to the other world, and they choose specific people to follow them. The first victim of this transaction was the Dutoit Family which was murdered on the 3rd of October 1994. These were members of the cult before they decide to leave because of all the scandals that had happened. On the 4th of October 1994 23 people were found dead in a burning chalet and the next year, 1995 16 more people died in the forest in France. Death kept happening and at this point people didn’t know who took charge of the group because Luc and Joseph died the previous year. 

Right now we don’t know if this cult still exists but no more deaths were recorded.  

The Realian baptism entails an upload of your genes to a space computer, allowing for digital reincarnation and immortality. 

There are some controversial facts about this religion. Their symbol is a Star of David with a swastika in the middle, a symbol that is really offensive to some people. They also believe in free love, sex, and sexuality is a big part of this doctrine. 

In addition, News24 released a documentary called Exodus: Uncovering a cult in Kwazulu-Natal. In the documentary, there are allegations of widespread physical, psychological, and sexual abuse, particularly committed against children by this mission.

This cult is also connected with human sacrifice. In March 2012 police announced that 2 men had been arrested for murdering of two ten-year-old boys during a sacrifice to Santa Muerte.
