By knowing how to compare two fractions will make solving problems easier. 

    For example:
    Q: You have 1/3 and 3/4 which is bigger?  
    A:  3/4 is bigger because the denominator is bigger than the numerator. 
    Q: You have 2/5 and 4/5 which is smaller?
    A: 2/5 is smaller because the denominators are the same, but the numerators are not. 2 is smaller than 4.

    3. Gabriel has 7/8 cups of water and drinks 3/4 cups, how much water is left?
    4. In the morning there was 1/4 feet of snow on the ground, a snow storm blew in and laid another 2/3 feet of snow. How much snow is on the ground?
    5. (Bonus) Sally woke up and there was 1/5 inches of rain in her rain catcher. After a thunderstorm there was now 4/5 inches  of rain in her rain catcher. How much rain fell?
