Kisa and Aunt Tiger knew they weren’t gonna make it, which is why they sent Sookan and the rest to keep them safe. Eventually the Russians found out, killed them, and hung them as an example for everybody to see what would happen if anybody else tried going to the south. Their sacrifice was not in vain because Sookan and the rest eventually got to the south. I’m not really that type of person though. I see most of my friends as family even if they don’t do the same. My friends are like a second family to me.
