I'm Jason from class 2308 and this is actually my first time to write an email. I was born in Xiangyang, a beautiful city located in Hubei province. The people there are friendly and hospitable and that helped build my passionate personality. In my daily life, I love playing sports like fitness and basketball because I enjoy the feeling of sweating. After that, I would like to share why I chose accounting as my major. There are three main reasons, the most important one is that I enjoy working with numbers. Though I'm not sure if I will be an accountant in the future, I'm still willing to develop this skill and concentrate on it because of my interests. The second reason is that accounting in Dufe has a  great ranking in China, that means Dufe has the best teachers and I can really learn something useful here. Last, I would say my dream is to start my own company and accounting is necessary for it. I know there is still a long way to go if I want to fulfill my dream and it's gonna be hard, but I am confident and ambitious, and I will achieve it one day no matter how hard it is.

This episode is specially made for the fans to show how our support matters to him and his gratitude. It doesn't have a specific topic, the main component of this episode is the interaction with the audience. I've learned a lot of authentic expressions and had a great chance to experience the Western culture. Many slangs have been added into my vocabulary dictionary by watching the show, it's different from the movies and the dramas because everything just happened randomly, people gonna show who they really are and that's why it is so real and I love it so much. 1. First of all, this episode is started with his grandpa Steve, an old man with great sense of humor, then switched into the discussion about the red flags in relationship, and finally ended with the discussion about some phenomena on the Internet. Matt showed his stance on the sexual prejudice, and strongly fight against those homophobia. Also, Matt listed some of his red flags in a relationship and some of which really strike a chord with me.

2. Secondly, I literally learn plenty of slangs and jokes, though some of them are truly dark jokes, but I like them anyways. One of my strongest feelings is that the differences between different cultures are so huge and shocked that make my chore on the floor. We Chinese people are usually conservative while the American people are so open on certain things. As for me, I am willing to accept different culture and enjoy it, I'm always curious about new things.

I have watched every episode of this TV series, from season 1 to season 11, and I pretty enjoyed the process of getting to know about the American culture by listening to their expressions and the slang they use. It is a brand-new experience for me and it did help me promote my listening skills and give me an expansion on my vocabulary. Additionally, underneath the chaotic and messed-up life of Gallagher was how they united as a family and support each other which impressed me so much and taught me the true meaning of family. And this also reminded me of something, inspiring me to focus on the tiny things that we barely pay attention to. Just like the lines in shameless: "You can call us poor and shameless but we still deserve the right to be respected and strive for what we dream of."

Nowadays, in such an ever-accelerating era, we usually neglect to be grateful for what we have already got and to have the compassion of those people who are suffering. According to the personality in shameless: Frank Gallagher, he is an extremely controversial character. On the one hand, his behavior is despicable. His neglect and harm to his family have brought great pain to the children. On the other hand, he also has some occasional flashes of humanity, such as his concern for the children at certain critical moments, but these are often overshadowed by his bad habits.

In the music video (MV), Taylor Swift's character wakes up wearing a white robe, chained to a bed in an upside-down mental hospital. Subsequently, the scene switches to her and Post Malone in an all-white room filled with typewriters. The two seem to be playing a pair of former lovers.
They appear in various surreal scenes, such as hugging on a lonely highway but being surrounded by tornado-like pieces of paper. In a strange laboratory, scientists played by Ethan Hawke and Josh Charles test Taylor, while Taylor controls a powerful machine and plunges it into a thunderstorm.
The MV shows a short and forbidden love story through these scenes and images. This pair of lovers may have broken up and each have their own families, but still have complex emotions for each other in their hearts. Taylor shows jealousy and resentment towards Malone's wife watering flowers. At the same time, her own marriage is not happy either, and her husband may be unfaithful.
In the MV, Taylor tries to relieve her inner pain by taking the "miracle let-go medicine", but the effect is only temporary. Although she and her ex maintain polite exchanges on the surface like neighbors, such as meeting in front of the mailbox and talking about sweaters, deep down she still has nostalgia and reluctance for the past relationship.
Various images and metaphors in the MV, such as mental hospitals, typewriters, thunder and lightning, etc., set the tone for the style of the album and also hint at the inner struggles, pain and chaos of the characters in the story.

Another reason that I love this song is the unexpected resonance between the story and myself. I went through a horrible breakup during the summer vacation, and that was the first time that I felt so painful. In the first couple of days, I didn't feel like eating anything, I got terrible depressed. But after thinking over the whole thing, I finally realized that nobody has the responsibility to protect you or think about you, love is fleeting, intangible, ever-changing. Just like the story in "fortnight", and that's why I was so obsessed with this song.

But love shouldn't be your burden, after experiencing this breakup, I felt I knew better about myself and the relationship, it is never a wise choice to stuck in the pain or sorrow. We still need to have an active and optimistic attitude towards life and carry on no matter what is happening around us.

In general, you completed this task to a good standard. You included some facts that you had gained from research to support your opinions, but you could have included more specific facts. You didn't cite any sources during your discussion to support your points, and this should be an area for improvement next time. You explained your reasoning very well showing good evaluation skills and critical thinking. You considered some ideas from different perspective, but you could try to improve on this to show a deeper understanding of the topic. You often referred back to other students' ideas and asked questions to keep the conversation flowing. You used signposting well to structure your discussion, and you have a good range of expressions to fulfil different functions within the seminar. Your wide range of subject specific vocabulary allowed you to explain complex ideas accurately and demonstrated that you had researched the topic well.

In general, you answered the essay question quite well. Your thesis was very clear and gave your stance on the evaluation of the solutions. You gave a clear outline for your essay that matched each of your body paragraphs. You gave clear topic sentences that explained the main idea of each paragraph and summarised the main points well in your concluding sentences and supported your stance. There were some good descriptions of the problems and the solutions, but there was little evaluation of the solutions which was a vital part of this essay. You should have analysed the solutions more and said when and where they will or won’t work. Your use of in-text citations is accurate and integrated well within your writing, and you have used a good range of reporting structures to introduce ideas from sources.
