Psychoanalysis is the one that we choose as psychological concept that become as the fundamental which can be used to solve our topic which is depression among university students. But how this concept is related to our topic which we will explain later. Basically, this concept itself is to figure out what kind of unconscious mind, feelings, desire, and memories that lead depression among university students. By having schedule with the expert of psychotherapist, the expert have the skills and technique to let their problems express by trying to talk to them. This is what we call psychodynamic therapy or talking therapy. The reason why they are in the mode of depression because there is something inside them that they are not aware, trying to surface into their conscious mind. But, not to mention that they are the one that repress their unconscious mind that try to surface, within the same time, they also the one that struggle and feel pain from the repression. In the end, this solution can help university students to express themselves more better than let them stockpile their problems. It will really help them relieve from the unconscious mind by letting it surface into the conscious mind.

Reference:

Psychoanalysis | Simply Psychology

Psychoanalysis | Psychology Today

Depression usually starts in early adulthood, with likely recurrences. It affects women more often than men, and unemployed people are also at high risk. Sadness, indifference or apathy, or irritation may be present during an episode. Changes in sleep patterns, hunger and weight, motor agitation or retardation, exhaustion, decreased focus and decision-making as well as feelings of shame or guilt and thoughts of death or dying, are all common symptoms. The nature of depression is that affected persons are unlikely to realize that they are depressed and are unlikely to seek help. They are also less capable of appropriately taking their treatment as directed by health care professionals. In all chronic conditions the concurrence of depression highly affects the quality of care provided by patients themselves and received by others.
