         <description><![CDATA[<div>&nbsp;I think that this was a surrogate war because the U.S. or the USSR never really got too involved with the war they were the ones that were sending things over. For example, the United States never actually attacked the Soviets, it was kinda just the U.S. troops fighting the Russian troops. The reason that it was a big part of the cold war is because it was the only part that really had any fighting in it. The Vietnam war connects to today by affecting a lot of the solers that came back from the war, a lot of them having bad mental issues and PTSD. Another way that it connects to today is that it really&nbsp;affected the U.S. economy badly.</div>]]></description>
