         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>This article from The National Association for the Education of Young Children describes the process families go through when learning their child is different, and the importance of listening and empathizing with families as they get accustomed to having a child with special needs.&nbsp;</div><div>The editorial gives insight into educational plans and goal setting strategies for children with special needs.&nbsp; And the authors validate educators as experts in child education, but parents as the experts in understanding their child’s strengths and needs in relation to a disability.&nbsp; Finally, the document strives to take the fear out of having a child with disabilities in the classroom by demonstrating the powerful impact positive partnerships between parents and educators can have on a child’s academic progress. &nbsp;</div>]]></description>
