This is a photo of the dead slaves being thrown off the slave ship, this part is specifically shown in the book close to the beginning, basically slaves would either starve themselves to death or just die from illnesses, so they wouldn't have to be tortured anymore, for they being in the middle of the entire ocean the only way to dispose of the dead bodies was by tossing them all the ship and allowing fish and other sea creatures to feast on them . This shows me, that back in this time, people were careless about how they treated others and sometimes death, was slaves only escape, times back then were extremely cruel, not just to slaves but even to women, and anyone who owed anyone debt they could be treated like mens, own property.

This image is of Cape Coast Castle in Ghana, where they would take the slaves and keep them captured in dungeons in the basement. This connects to the book Copper Sun, because this is the exact castle they talk about in the book, where they were taken and tortured at, this photo makes me realize how big the place actually was and how many guards must of surrounded it.
