         <description><![CDATA[<div>Aliza💃,Delaney🐵, Clay✋🏻, Blythe🐙<br>Summary:<br>In chapeter seven, Hester Prynne and Pearl are traveling to the mansion of governor Bellinghan to deliver him gloves, and to prevent pearls and being taken from her. On the way there, Hester Prynne and Pearl are not treated as people, but as a thing... the scarlet letter. They arrive at the fresh, brilliant house, Pearl looking in awe upon its beauty, and enter in the hopes of good intentions.<br>Vocab:<br>Cuirass- a piece of armor consisting of breastplate and backplate fastened together (p.99)<br>Gorget- an article of clothing that covers the throat (p.99)<br>Subsistence- the action or fact of maintaining or supporting oneself at a minimum level (p.100)<br>Quote:<br>"'Behold, verily, there is the woman of the scarlet letter; and, of a truth, moreover, there is the likeness of the scarlet letter running along by her side! Mr. Dimmesdale convinces them to let her keep Pearl, and then Chillingworth wants to reopen the case of who the father is. <br><br>Vocabulary:<br>1.
