The Korean War or the “Forgotten Conflict” was a war in Korea that was similar to the Vietnam War. In the Korean War, the north side of Korea was ruled by a dictator who wanted to reunite Korea under a Communist regime. On the south side was the same however under a more Westernized version of government. At this point though nothing had happened until North Korea invaded South Korea with the support of Russia. This led to South Korea almost being taken over completely until the USA lent aid in the form of soldiers. They manage to push them almost up to China. However, China was concerned they wouldn't stop at the border so they sent more troops into North Korea. This led South Korea to be pushed back basically to where it started.

The song I chose is “New Magic Wand” by Tyler, The Creator. The song goes “I need to get her out the picture. Shes really F***ing up my frame.” This is supposed to represent how both of the leaders of North and South Korea wanted to reunite Korea without the other. The song then goes “This 60/40 isn't working. I want a hundred of your time. Your mine” This is supposed to represent how after South Korea was almost fully invaded they took it almost back.

The Berlin blockade was when Russia attempted to block East Berliners from traveling to the west of Berlin. Communist Russia managed East Berlin while West Berlin was split between Democratic America, France, and Britain. This was done to stop East Berliners from staying in West Berlin when they visited West Berlin which was much better economically. After the blockade was put in place, West Berlin started to use airlifts to provide aid eventually, what we know as the Berlin Wall was put up as a divider between the city.

The song I chose was “Tek It” by Cafuné. The song says that “We started off in such a nice place”. This is supposed to represent how the relationship between Russia and the other countries started. They would be considered allies. The song then says “ So long, nice to know you ill be moving on”. This symbolizes how now that Russia isn't allied with countries like America they are saying “bye” and are moving on from the friendship.

The Vietnam War was in Vietnam and between global Superpowers America and Russia. This was caused by Vietnam being split on what Ideals to follow. North Vietnam wanted to follow what China and Russia had done by following communism. South Vietnam however had ideals that were more aligned with Western countries like America. This led to both sides fighting which then led to the communist Russia supporting the north and the Capitalist and democratic America supporting the south. The US wanted to win because of the domino theory and containment. America thought that if Vietnam were to fall to communism, other countries would follow suit. They also wanted to contain Communism in just Russia. After deadly fighting from both sides, America had to withdraw troops due to them losing and people back home expressing anti-war ideals.

The song I picked was “New Person, Same Old Mistakes” by Tame Impala. The song goes “I can just hear them now. How could you let us down”. This is supposed to represent how South Vietnam was feeling after America left them to get overtaken by Communism. “I can just hear them now” Talks about how America will see Vietnam fall to Communism. The song also says “Feeling it overtake. All that I used to hate”. This represents how South Vietnam failed to win and now they are being overtaken by Communism, Something they hate.

NATO is a political and military alliance between 32 countries that are in Europe and North America. NATO was created for a multitude of reasons but a big reason why was to stop the expansion of Communism with Russia. Countries in NATO will have to pay 2% for defenses for every country along with NATO providing military aid if any of them were to be attacked. The Warsaw Pact was created as a way to counter NATO. However, the Warsaw Pact had many countries that were satellite states of Russia that didn't have a choice.

The song I picked was “Europapa” by Joost. At the beginning of the song, he says” Europe, Let's come together. It's now or never.” This is supposed to represent how Europe would be coming together by forming NATO. It's also saying that it needs to be now or they will never come together. In the song, he lists many countries and what he likes about them. This is supposed to represent all the countries coming together again.

On December 25, 1991, The USSR ended and was replaced with the Russian flag we know today. The reasons the USSR fell was first, due to the general population not being happy with how the country was being run under communism. Second, other countries being in their Warsaw pact were starting to declare sovereignty over them. Third, they weren't spreading communism due to the US fighting them by using containment. And fourth, the USSR and its population were in poverty and couldn't keep up with America in the arms race.

I chose the song Sober by Childish Gambino. The song goes “And now that it’s over, I’ll never be sober.” This represents how now that the USSR is over, the world can finally see the future clearly. Russia is supposed to symbolize something that kept the US occupied or “drunk”. Now that the USSR is gone America can finally focus on the future making them “Sober”. Next, the song says “ I couldn't believe, but now I'm so high”. This is supposed to represent how the US couldn't believe how the USSR would fall but now they are ready to improve or “Fly”.

The People's Republic of China ran the “Great Leap Forward” campaign. It was supposed to change China from an agricultural society that got its money from crops to an industrialized society that got its money from transporting materials and items. Led by Mao Zedong, this would later cause humanity's biggest Famine. The “Great Leap Forward” campaign also led to the death of many intellectuals and free thinkers.

The song I chose was “Where this Flower Blooms” by Tyler, The creator. The song goes “I rock, I roll, I bloom, I grow.” This is supposed to represent how China will “grow” into a new and better China with the Great Leap Forward campaign. The song also says “Rooted from the Bottom, Bloomed into a tree.” This represents how China is connected to the past with its traditions and how they are allowed to grow more and more while still being connected.

Containment was a practice used by America to stop communism from spreading farther than a few countries. Implemented in the Truman document, it aimed to prevent the domino theory by making sure communist ideals didn't spread to other countries. We can see this in countries like Afghanistan and Guatemala with the US overthrowing the government in Guatemala to stop a president with seemingly communist ideals and the USSR and America even fighting in Afghanistan.

The song I picked was “Taking What's Not Yours” by TV girl. The song has the tagline “ Thieven’, stealin’, takin’ what's not yours.” This is supposed to represent how the US views the USSR going over to countries and spreading their Communist ideals. They are stealing countries away from America. The song also says “You know where to find me. And I know where to look.” This represents how the USSR will always know where America is but also vice versa since America will always see where the USSR is.

The “My Lai Massacre” was a war crime committed against South Vietnamese citizens by the United States. Between 347 and 504 civilians were killed. Many of them were then burned, Mutlitade, or raped. While many soldiers were convicted, only Lieutenant William Calley Jr was found guilty. He was given a life sentence but only served three years of house arrest as President Nixon commuted his sentence. The killings were done in villages with many men, women, and children dying.

The song I chose was “Army Dreamers” by Kate Bush. The song goes “(What could he do? Should have been a rock star) But he didn't have the money for a guitar (What could he do? Should have been a politician) But he never had a proper education (What could he do? Should have been a father) But he never even made it to his twenties” This is supposed to represent how what the kids of the attack could have done if they survived. It shows how they all had dreams of what they wanted to do but they could never follow them because they were killed. The song also says “Four men in uniform. To carry home, my little soldier.” This is supposed to represent how the parents of the children who died felt when they found out who killed there child.

The Marshall Plan was an economic recovery project by the USA to help rebuild countries affected heavily by World War 2. Countries like the UK and France with cities that were damaged by air raids or invasions were given money based on assistance per capita. Countries that fought with the nazis like Italy and countries that remained neutral like Switzerland got less. Russia didn't get any assistance due to them not helping rebuild Europe. This also made the US question their allyship with them.

The song I chose was “ Money, Money, Money” By ABBA. The song goes “Money, Money, Money. Must be funny. In a rich man's world.” This represents how the US treated money. They had so much money that they were just willing to spend it causing it to be “Funny” to them. The song also goes “ All the things I could do, If I had a little money.” This is supposed to represent how countries were feeling when America was giving out money. They were thinking about all the ways they could rebuild and make their country better.

The Bay of Pigs was a failed invasion by America which were trying to Invade Cuba and overthrow Fidel Castro. It failed because it seemed that Cuba knew that they were coming and managed to fight back. The USSR gave missiles to Cuba which were in the range of America. This causes America to panic and try and invade them quickly. This also led to the Cuban missile crisis which was how the world was closest to nuclear war. However, it was avoided with a last-minute agreement between the two global superpowers. The Bay of Pigs is known as one of America's biggest failed invasions.

The song I chose was “Bad Idea Right?” by Olivia Rodrigo. The song's tagline is “It's a bad idea right?” This represents how invading Cuba so quickly would be a bad idea for America. The song also goes “ But, god, when I look at you. My brain goes “Ah”. This is supposed to represent how America felt when Cuba was given missiles by the USSR. They were panicking because they were way closer to danger now.
