More than equality, equity. We should help with things we can do. In my case, my parents are not together, but I remember that when I was a child, my dad went to work and I stayed with my mom in the house. She took care of me (because I was an only child) and she sometimes, among with a cleaning lady, took care of the house. But, if my dad was there, he would have helped without a doubt. Both of them had things to do in an equity way. Anyone did more than anyone, and I thing that's great because it's not the case in some houses and that's a mistake some people commit. And that if my mom wanted to work, she could, but she feels like her job right now is at home with her kids. But when my parents were just married and my dad was still studying she worked and supported them for three years, and my dad was never bothered by that, but grateful. Sadly, more often than not, they've seen their own friends acting irrational towards their spouse because they didn't do what they "expected" based on their gender role.   • Most men don’t take their share on mental load, just doing as instructed and not clearing the things that should be cleaned/not taken care of since they weren’t asked.
  • The way our society shoves stereotypes and agendas down our throat since  an early age is a big influence.
  • The media we consume is another example, we rarely see heroines in the media.
  • The way we are raised is also a big influence on how we develop as homeowners.
  • While nowadays it isn’t rare to see more women working, they still remain in charge of the house management. 
  • It is crucial to have an avid conversation with your partner when it comes to chores, because he might think he’s doing a lot but it turns out there’s much more he could be helping with.
