         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>August 14, 1765<br></strong>The Sons of Liberty is a group of men who started an opposition group based on the discontent of England's rule. They forced officials to resign, created petitions, published newspaper articles and handbills, these were only some of their accomplishments. The significance of the Sons of Liberty is that it was one of the biggest factors that started the revolt, without their efforts the revolution may have never happened and our country would not reach it's independence.&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>April 5, 1764</strong></div><div>The American Revenue Act of 1764, otherwise known as the 'sugar act,' is basically a modified version of the Sugar and Molasses Act of 1733 and was passed by the British Parliament of Great Britain. This act tried to lower the tax on foreign molasses in an effort to prevent smuggling and mandated that imports shipped from the colonies had to pass through Britain before going to other countries. The significance of the Sugar Act is that the tax was solely for the Parliaments treasury compared to previously how taxes were for supporting local British officials.&nbsp;</div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>
