However, Soviet aimed to influence all three countries, and wanted to reach their aim by force.</p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>Similarities : </p><ul><li><p>For the Soviet response for both was to mobilize troops. To suppress the Hungarian Uprising, USSR mobilized 30,000 troops with tanks and artillery and had killed many people. To suppress the Prague Spring, the USSR led the Warsaw Pact troops to invade Czech. </p></li><li><p>The aims for both events was similar. The Hungarians aimed to against the overall influence from the Soviet and also due to the regime under Matyas Rakoss, Hungary was under economic crisis. The economic crisis in Czechoslovakia had led to the low living standard among 1960s, and this led the leader Antonin Novotny unpopular. Dubcek aimed to get rid of the communist rule and made a list of reforms to improve the economy. </p></li></ul></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>Hungary was strongly dissatisfied with the regime's strongly Stalinist leader Rakosi, who was then replaced by Nagy. </p><ul><li><p>Hungary people were opposed to the USSR influence, and wanted to establish some very radical changes, i.e. Free elections and withdrawal from Warsaw Pact.</p></li><li><p>Triggered USSR reaction to invade Hungary. For the Soviet response for both was to mobilize troops. </p></li></ul></li><li><p>Czechoslovakia was pro-USSR in the sense that they also believed in the socialist ideologies. However, they were ruled by the Secret Police under the influence of USSR.</p><ul><li><p>They had a really bad economic situation so wanted reforms</p></li><li><p>Unlike Hungary, they were happy in alliance with USSR (was pushed by the Marshall Plan away)</p></li><li><p>Soviet also invaded Czechoslovakia for fear of weakening Soviet influence/socialist power.</p></li></ul></li></ul>]]></description>
