Regardless of what device we use, in my opinion, the school needs to intentionally direct the pedagogical use of the device. When we first introduced the iPad, the school intentionally trained educators on both how and why to use the device.

Students ability to create content on device

While I understand that computer carts may still exist no matter what device we choose, students need to be able to download and use programs that allow them to create content (Autodesk, Adobe, etc.). The computers on the current carts are not reliable. My previous school went with student-owned laptops and all of those issues went away. Technology was no longer an issue

When we are in class, distraction is an issue, so I am in favor of Jamf or another MDM.
