Hrungnir noticed Odin ride upon his trusty steed, fascinated The Giant asked about the horse, Odin boasted about his steed. Hrungnir baited Odin into racing to the borders of Iotunheim, Odin wn as Odin invited him to feasting in the halls of Asgard.

Calm before the Storm

Hrungnir entered the walls of Asgard, usually this would be frowned upon but Odin allowed the giant under the guise of friendship. In his time there Hrungnir became quite intoxicated boasting and ordering for more mead, Hrungnir boasted he would destroy the gods and take Lady Sif as his wife, enraged Thor entered the halls of Asgard

Thor tried to attack the giant who exclaimed it was Odin who let him in, the others stopped Thor seeing it dishonorable to attack a weaponless giant in the midst of their home. Thor and Hrungnir agreed to battle some day in Iotunheim.

The Battle

In Iotunheim Hrungnir and a man made of clay awaited Thor and a lad named Thialfi brandished their weapons Thialfi emerged claiming to be able to help Hrungnir. Thialfi questioned Hrungnir about his weaponry wondering what happen if Thor emerged from the ground, foolishly. The Giant stood upon his shield trusting the lad Just then Thor emerged from the ground sparks emitted from Mjonir.

The Battle PT 2

Thor's rage thundered throughout Iotunheim Thor winded Back Mjonir realeasing the hammer in the form of a throw Hrungnir unable to block in time hurled his hone to clash with the Thunder god, the hone shattered into millions of shards one sliding under the brow of Thor. The hammer smashed into Hrungnir's cranium splitting it wide open as he stumbled dead.

Conclusion

Thialifi flourished his blade lunging forward to the clay giant, in one sweep of his sword the clay monster was sent to his demise. Thiafli went to see how his companion fared against Hrungnir only to find Thor trapped between Hrungnirs legs, Thiafli sprinted into action trying to budge the giant but to no avail. Just as Thors son Magni arrived to the scene he gripped the giants legs and easily removed them from his father they embraced one another and headed back to Asgard.
