Annabeth receives a coin from her mother, Athena. She is told to find the Mark of Athena. While Nico di Angelo gets captured by the 2 twin giants, sons of Gaea, and only has a few day left to live without food. This genre of fantasy takes the reader back to Greece and Rome in an Americanized civilization. The 2 camps, Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter, must work together to prevent Gaea from awakening and destroying the world. This book was very long but each page was full of detail and I can picture each scene in my head. I recommend this book to readers interested to Greek and Rome mythology.

He ends up in a place called Camp Jupiter, a camp that trains Roman demigods to fight monsters. After Percy meets an old lady and carries her away from the gorgons, the lady reveals herself as Juno. The Roman queen of Olympus. She tells Camp Jupiter that there is a quest in Alaska. She introduces Percy as a son of Neptune, the sea god. Percy takes Hazel and Frank to go on this quest and save Camp Jupiter from destruction. I enjoyed this book because it shows us some Percy Jackson action since the first book didn't include him.
