         <description><![CDATA[<div>I LEARNT THAT GM........<br><br>HOW I FEEL ABOUT THIS TOPIC:&nbsp;<br>I found that GM mosquitoes is very interesting because it can replace insecticides! We know that dengue fever affect many people, causes lots of deaths a year, and there's still no known vaccine/drugs to cure. So by releasing this transgenic animals, i really hope this mosquitoes can be an alternative to control the dengue cases in Malaysia.&nbsp;<br><br>HOW I FEEL ABOUT TODAY'S CLASS:<br>Alhamdulillah everything went well. I felt accomplished about what we had discussed earlier. However, I always feel I need to learn a lot from you guys. if some of you ever feel not able to understand a particular concept from this course, please don't hesitate to ask me/ suggest me new methods of teaching that you expect from me ya 😊&nbsp;<br><br>What can be improved:<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Apa yang saya paham melalui topik ini ialah&nbsp; Enviropig adalah khinzir yang lebih mesra alam dimana najisnya mengandungi kurang kandungan fosforus daripada khinzir biasa yang ada.Hal ini kerana,najis khinzir biasa yang dilepaskan ke sungai atau persekitaran boleh merosakkan ekosistem kerana kandungan fosforus yang tinggi akan mengurangkan oksigen dalam air ,seterusnta menggalakkan pembiakan algae sekaligus memberi pencemaran ke udara.<br>Pengeluaran babi transgenik yang mengeluarkan saliva&nbsp;fitase&nbsp; yang menyediakan penghadaman lengkap fosforus fitat pemakanan di samping mengurangkan pengeluaran fosforus sehingga 75%. Penggunaan phytase transgenik babi dalam pengeluaran daging babi komersial boleh mengakibatkan penurunan alam sekitar pencemaran fosforus daripada ternakan operasi.<br><br><br>Perasaan yang saya dapat melalui kelas hari ini :<br>-saya menambah pengetahuan saya berkaitan bagaimana untuk penghasilan binatang melaui kaedah GMO selain daripada GMO tumbuhan.<br>-pengetahui proses-proses untuk transgeneic haiwan.<br><br><br>Perkara yang boleh menceriakan class tanpa kami mengantuk ,miss boleh buat pelbagai aktiviti yang menarik.<br><br><br>Selamat Hari Raya Miss Dina.          <description><![CDATA[<div>HOW I FEEL ABOUT THIS TOPIC:&nbsp;<br>Sedikit rasa kesian terhadap tikus tikus yang comel ni, tapi untuk melakukan dan meneruskna kajian, haiwan digunakan sebagai bahan ujim kaji. Antara haiwan yang selalu digunakan tikus, kambing dan ikan. Tikus yang normal yang biasa dijumpai itu tidak dijangkiti viruses polio&nbsp; sebab cell tikus biasa tidak mempunyai surface yang luas. Kemudian, "supermouse" telah dicipta oleh pengkaji. Supermouse ialah tikus makmal yang sudah dimasukkan human growth hormone. setelah itu, virus polio manusia kemudiannya dimasukkan ke dalam tikus supaya tikus itu mempunyai sifat yang sama macam manusia. Pengkaji kemudian observe apa yang berlaku terhadap tikus itu.          <description><![CDATA[<div>What I understand about this topic is that it is about animals that have been modified including naked chickens. This makes the chicken more 'simple' and saves energy because there is no need to use the service to pluck chicken feathers. Furry chickens cannot function well and their growth becomes a little slower than hairless chickens. With this, we can also know that chicken production increases over time as it is a favorite source of human protein. But, with faster growth this chicken also has a disadvantage that it will reduce its fat. With this, hairless chickens are also considered a rare exotic breed. So based on this topic I was also able to find out about other modified animals including enviropig, web spinning goat and fast growing salmon.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>What I think about this topic is that it is very impressive because before this I had never known that there were many animals that had been modified to facilitate processing. An example is salmon. as we know, previously the price of salmon was quite expensive because the population of this fish was not large. So the fish is modified by inserting the ocean pout gene for the fish to grow quickly. In the presence of this gene it will grow rapidly and will produce this salmon population in large numbers. Jadi, saintis ubah suai seekor lembu supaya tidak menghasilkan kandungan lactose dalam susu lembu. This fish has been addressed in prior sessions by Madam. However, in this chapter, I learnt more in depth. Scientists believe that fast-growing salmon is a good concept. It is due to the fact that salmon take longer to mature. As a result of the huge need for food, we may conclude that genetically modified animals are very important in this era.          <description><![CDATA[<div>HOW I FEEL ABOUT THIS TOPIC:&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>Through the learning exposure on this topic, I had gained beneficial information in the science world – that is not only plants and crops can be genetically modified, but as well as animals. It is often heard about crops being genetically modified by inserting foreign genes in their nucleus, but not animals. However, from this topic, I learned that transgenic animals can actually be a good thing by the discovery the scientist due to several reasons🧑🏼‍🔬💉. “Enviropig” is a type of pig where its poop contains less phosphorus than a normal pig. Note that a high volume of phosphorus released to the environment can cause the increased growth of algae (algae bloom) which are harmful to both human and animal health. On the other hand, it is often observed that chickens are always full of their feathers and it takes a long time for one to fully clean and processed the chicken before consummation. Thus, after being genetically modified, “naked chickens” are created whereby it is a type of featherless chicken. And by that, one had truly saved time and energy by the processing work of the chickens. ⏳<br><br><br></div><div>HOW I FEEL ABOUT TODAY’S CLASS:&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>I was kind of surprised to know that animals too can be changed its habit and nature, just for the sake of people and their experiments. Other than laboratory mice 🐭, I now know that pigs🐷, chickens 🐔, goats 🐐 as well as sea creatures like salmons 🐟 and seahorses can be genetically modified too. Even the common experimental material like monkeys 🐵 is also put to the test. Though it works for a better future, one must truly have a hard heart and put behind one’s sympathy when it comes to a work like this. Yes, the animals may be cute and could seem cruel to animal lovers for one to put the animals to the test like this, but one should know that genetically modified animals bring more positive impact to both people and the environment in a long term. 🌏<br><br><br></div><div>WHAT CAN BE IMPROVED:&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>In my opinion, the class session always goes smoothly and well. Though with a slightly sleepy feeling, still students are always on the lookout for miss’s class every week for the new learning. I think that having “Quizziz” by the end of the class works for us as it helps us to stay focused throughout the class knowing there’s a quiz to answer. At the same time, helping us to recall each of the topics learned on that day. As John Holt once quoted, “<em>Learning is not the product of teaching.          <description><![CDATA[<div>&nbsp;How I learned about this topic :]<br><br>- There are 2 Genetically modified that are Transgenic animals and transgenic food. Transgenic animals. Transgenesis is the process which mixing up genes, the goal of transgenic animals is to research animal and human disease, improve livestock animals, and use animals as bioreactors. For example, Enviropig is a genetically modified pig that can digest phosphorus better. The problem for original pigs is a contributor to the increased amount of phosphorus in the environment so the solution is to develop a gene that decreases Phosphorus in manure. Transgenesis allows the improvement of nutrients in animal products, including their quantity and quality. Genetically modified foods are such as cow, cow produced milk that lacks a substance that causes an allergic reaction called BLG (Beta-Lactogbulin protein) so scientists slashed the level of BLG in the cow's milk to an undetectable level.&nbsp;<br><br>How I feel about this topic and class :]<br><br>I was a bit surprised because modified animals related to the internal organs of animals were injected into the human body and vice versa. But I opened my mind to take the point of view of knowledge to dig deeper into knowledge. The class was fun because of the new and hilarious knowledge for me and the excellent lecturer descriptions.<br><br>What can be improved for the next session?<br><br>so far i feel okay with the way madam teaches and I don't have any problems in terms of anything.          <description><![CDATA[<div>HOW I FEEL ABOUT THIS TOPIC:</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Agrobiotechnology is a course that are more towards science and green technology where I had obtain a lot of information in flora and fauna aspects. In this topic, I had learned about the genetically modified organism (GMO) such as “Enviropig” whereby this pig gives a poop that contain less phosphorus which gives a benefit to the environment. Note that, phosphorus is extremely toxic to human body system and also can caused increased growth of algae and large aquatic plants which might decreased the level of dissolved oxygene in the pool and river. Beside of this enviropig, there is also a discussion about “naked chicken” whereby scientist had create a chicken that are featherless. Based on the scientist statement, it state that feather will slow down and decrease the growth of a chicken. Apart from that, to process a naked chicken is much convenient and faster compare to normal chicken. With that, I can see that Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) brings more benefit to the environment and ecosystem towards more time saving and better production of food.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>HOW I FEEL ABOUT TODAY ’S CLASS:</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>I was amazed and does not expect that animals deoxyribonucleic (DNA) can be alter to change the animal’s habit, growth and nature. This genetically modified organism gives a solution to improve public health, demand of food production, reduce environment impact and at the same time optimize animal health and welfare production. As in the previous lesson that had been learned, genetically modify crops are unique and complex since it involves the nucleus of a plant cell. While for this topic, the animal organism involves the transgenic concept which is a process of mixing up two different genes that take place in a recombinant DNA. With that, I had gain a new input whereby pigs, chickens, goats, cow and marine life such as salmon fish and seahorse can be genetically modified.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>WHAT CAN BE IMPROVED DURING LESSON:</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Based on my point of view after the first class of session in week 1, the next class had been run smoothly with much clear audio.          <description><![CDATA[<div>What I learned form topic 4?<br><br>I learned that transgenic animal which animal that carried a known sequence of recombinant DNA. Which recombinant DNA is fragments that have joined together. As transgenesis the process of mixing the genes takes place. As I was interested in WEB SPINNING GOATS transgenic animal, the drag line of slik gene from spider were inserted into a goats. By that the goat were modified to produce milk that rich in protein that were found in spider wed. Not just that, the milk form goat itself can used to create Biosteel!<br><br>What I feel about class?<br><br>I was amazed about scientists who come out with solution to change the nature, which given us a better food production that based of animals. For instance, transgenic salmon, that grow larger and at a faster rate than natural varieties, have already been created and farmed.&nbsp; &nbsp; Another common use of genetic engineering technology is the use of goat growth hormone in dairy web spinning goats to increase their milk that rich the protein that were found in spider web production.&nbsp; &nbsp; In the future, transgenic sheep can be created to produce better wool and cows can be engineered to more efficiently convert grain into higher quality milk and meat.<br><br>How i feel about this class<br><br>I was excited and had fun learning this topic because i was able to find out about the good that would happen if we changed the DNA in those animals that could produce better traits to us and the environment</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>From what i learnt&nbsp; , this topic teach me that transgenic animals are animals that have had a foreign gene deliberately inserted into their genome. Such animals are most commonly created by the microinjection of DNA into the pronuclei of a fertilised egg which is subsequently implanted into the oviduct of a pseudopregnant surrogate mother. This results in the recipient animal giving birth to genetically modified offspring. The progeny are then bred with other transgenic offspring to establish a transgenic line. Transgenic animals can also be created by inserting DNA into embryonic stem cells which are then micro-injected into an embryo which has developed for five or six days after fertilisation, or infecting an embryo with viruses that carry a DNA of interest.&nbsp;<br><br>I was enjoy in this class as this teach me the new things that I don't know that exist. This process is carried out to introduce a new trait or change a characteristic such as the disease resistance of an animal. DNA is the genetic material of an organism and carries the instructions for all the characteristics that an organism inherits. Changes introduced in an animal’s genetic make-up can therefore be transmitted to the next generation.&nbsp;<br><br>&nbsp;genetic modification allows for the elimination of disease in animals. How genetic engineering has developed, has allowed genetic engineers to detect conditions before the animal is even born.          <description><![CDATA[<div>What I learnt in this topic 4 is about transgenic animals which is animal that carries a known sequence of recombinant DNA in its cells and passes that DNA onto its offspring. Among the genetically engineered animals I studied was the Enviropig also known as the Frankenswine. Genetically modified pigs that can digest phosphorus better. In addition, goats spin genetically modified goat nests that produce milk rich in the protein found in spider webs. Milk can be used to create Biosteel, web -like materials and so on. Fast -growing salmon are able to grow twice as fast as regular fish, despite having the same smell, color, texture and taste. Many of the characteristics we have students have about genetically engineered animals and the production of transgenic animals.&nbsp;<br><br>How i feel about this class is I was great to learn this topic because I gained many knowledge about transgenic animals and others.<br><br>Thank you &lt;:<br>
