MAYAS developed cities/states (Tikal, Copán, Palenque) with ceremonial centers for elites (kings - halach uinic, priests, and nobles) and peasants were farming outside. They advanced agriculture with terraces and chinampas (floating gardens). The Mayans would leave a detailed written record of their rulers and wars.

How does this Relate to the columbian exchange

This relates to the Colombian exchange because of the fall of Teotihuacan and the Maya ended their big cities but their people, food and cultures did not collapse and stayed alive. During the Columbian Exchange, crops like corn, cacao, and tomatoes spread around the world, while the people suffered from new diseases.

This relates to the other articles because the fall of Teotihuacan and the Maya left behind multiple crops, ideas, and cultures that would inspire Europeans later on to spread through their new trade routes and colonies. When Europeans sailed around the world, they spread American crops like corn, cacao, and tomatoes, but native populations fell quickly because of diseases like smallpox.
